Different types of CAD systems
Computer Aided design system was made for simplifying the advance engineering
drawing. This software is used for construction architecture and drawing in the various
engineering field (Ibrahim, Johar and Rahman, 2018). Various types of CAD system are
discussed below.
2 Dimensional CAD:
Two dimensional CAD is one of the most important software in the CAD system. It
was invented in the 70s. Big aerospace, automobile companies use this software at that time.
2D CAD uses basic shapes like lines, circle, and rectangles to create the drawing. Autodesk is
one of the most popular 2D CAD software available in the market. Autodesk tool is made for
design flagship products (Mabogunje, 2015). This software offers over eighty products.
Every product target different industries. AutoCAD is the flagship product of Autodesk. This
is the first product of Autodesk, and this is the most popular product of Autodesk. AutoCAD
can create product design, conceptual concepts and simulations by using 2D and 3D drawing.
At first, this software was created for mechanical engineers latter every industry use this
software. Another product is Revit. Revit is built for design building model. A designer can
create a 2D model as well as a 3D model in these applications. This software has a unique
feature like 4D BIM. By using this technology, designers can create a plan or track the
different stages in building life cycle. Inventor is another product from Autodesk. This
application is design for mechanical engineers. By using this software, the user can create a
professional mechanical design.
2.5 D CAD:
2.5D cad is developed between 2D and 3D cad. Bu using this CAD, prismatic model
