Two relevant tourism and their issues
Aboriginal Tourism development plan for Tasmania: Aboriginal tourism attracts
visitors for its culture, natural beauty, heritage, and much resource management. Tasmania has
the Aboriginal tourism product which promotes, recognize and share the culture and the heritage
between the Aboriginal and non-Aboriginal people. The main objective of this discussion was to
increase the employment opportunities in the Tasmanian Aborigines and to provide a good story
to the visitors (Pickering and Hill, 2007).
Issue: The major issues in this tourism are about the authenticity and this tourism
community is very diverse so it is difficult to manage the rights and the culture at community
levels. The government is not meeting the visitor demand as they are developing sufficient
Indigenous tourism. Another issue which was faced was the requirements of the protocols to
promote value system and cultural principles (Lew, 2014).
Rural based tourism: This Tourism provides a good experience to the visitors as there
are many interaction points between the local producers and the multi-faceted. Rural based
tourism not only gives the visitor attraction pints but also they attract visitors for the heritage,
culture, local events, and traditions which are produced in these areas. In rural environment
culture, heritage and traditions are celebrated at unique style. People also get attracted towards
the landscape of the rural areas as it is full of green nature, mountain ranges and the cultural
heritage. In rural areas, visitors also get attracted to the agro-tourism as people took an interest in
the food production process also (Tryhorn and Lynch, 2010).
Issue: There were many issues raised in this discussion paper such as rural areas majorly
face the problem of the infrastructure. The infrastructure and the transportation facility is not that
much effective which impact the tourism of such places. In rural areas, there is no major industry
which wills attract the customer’s fir new experiences. In the rural area of Australia, there are no
travel facilities like domestic airlines so it creates an issue for the growth of tourism.
