Should Abortion be legal?
Introduction
Abortion has been an issue of concern and is continually debated for a very long period.
The primary debate always revolves around on whether the abortion should be permitted or
legalized or not. Abortion can be defined as the damage or termination of unborn or fetus while
the fetus is within the mother's uterus ( Sedgh, Singh, Shah, Hman, Henshaw & Bankole,2012).
The process can be carried out by the mother on her own in backing the alley abortion and can as
well be conducted by the medical professionals. Different cultures and the societies have
different opinions towards this act linked to termination of the fetus. For instance, some states
have allowed abortions to a certain level, and others have completely banned it. Hence abortion
is a highly debated issue in various countries. In this particular piece am going to contest for
abortions.
Abortion as the choice of a woman
Various exponents of the abortions like the Procorn.org describes abortion as a pro-
choice. This category of individuals believes that doing abortion is the unlimited choice of a
woman and can never be controlled by any other institution, societal or any religious power
(ProCon, 2013). Abortion is the right of any woman who wants to outweigh the right in claiming
the fetus or an embryo. These individuals continue in arguing that in case there is the absence of
laws to regulate the abortions, then the result increases in illegal or unsafe abortions (Haddad &
Nour, 2009).
The pro-choice people again believe that a significant percentage of women who wish not
to have kids at a specific time should abstain from sex. But this idea does not apply in the cases
