ABSTRACT
SDN (Software defined network) and IBN (Intent based network) both will help to design the
network that will automatically monitor the network as well as administrated task. Combining
both software defined network and intent based network on virtualization and cloud computing
will provide a cost effective network, high performance, managing the network assets and high
security on network.
INTRODUCTION ABOUT THE ORGANIZATION
Organization currently has nearly 2000 desktop computer with Microsoft windows operating
system and wants to change them into Dell Optiplex series with Intel Core i5 processor on
windows 10 operating system, 8GB DDR4 RAM, and 256GB of ROM. Each users on the
organization can access on their company network by using VPN software so they can access
using their phones and iPads. Rough estimate for their entire work will be as follows.

It has been many years ago Software Define Network is used for administrating the
network. It has many advantages in its applications. In general it is used for managing,
monitoring, helps during the breakdown of networks without the need of hardware, routers,
switches and other physical devices. These networks are not often available with the network
functions but they can be found in virtualization technology. Both SDN and the virtualization
technology are related to each other with different goals. They help to enable the network
managers and the administrator to customize and configure the network functions and their
devices and to enable the virtualization technology related to the cloud virtual machines. This
method is considered as a successful method for monitoring and administrating the network
among many organizations. Though it has many advantages in this method it also has some
disadvantages. The main issue with this method is its complexity. Over past years this is only
technology which is widely used by the organizations to improve their network administration.
So people found this installation is complex. But the solution for the software defined network is
cheaper. So there is no problem with the cost of installation. For a smaller business it will be
tough to support the financial cost.
When comparing SDN with IBN, IBN is new to the networking environment but the
goals of IBN and SDN are same. IBN focuses more on design, implementation, agility and
network availability and less on virtualization. IBN can be merged using four elements namely
translation and validation, implementation, network awareness, dynamic remediation. These
elements are used for getting the inputs from the users and configuring the network design.
Based on the intent of user the network designs are validated, configured and check the network
until it requires any changes to be done. The greatest advantage in intent based networking is it
portability and vendor nature. It means that if the application is developed for one SDN it can be
used by the other SDN environment without making any changes in the existing environment.

To reduce the cost of the SDN we can use the virtualization concept were the in the olden
time the server hardware which is physically present will be the responsible for the software

virtualization technology. We can create more virtual machine that are capable of running the
software.
We keep on improving minimizing the latency gap between the server and the client thought
these concepts which will require fewer resources and faster loading time inside the network.
The SDN concept reduces the cost through giving the resources at the fraction of a cost for
example considering we are going to buy a switch and router for setting our network. The switch
and the router are going to forward the packets. At the cost of buying the actual hardware and
finding a suitable place for the hardware to sit on. if there is a technological upgradation must be
done we need to go and buy the hardware but with SDN we just need the software which are
upgradable and easily removable from the current working environment and can be shifted to a
different server.in case of the server migration
The primary goal of SDN is to reduce the manual work which may be needed by the
administrator. Through the concept of SDN there are several ways we can reduce the cost though
automation and configuration of the network correctly so that there will not bottle neck
happening the network which will lead to the latency. Hardware cost in a datacenter may be 10
percent but the labor cost for maintain the servers at the peak operating speed will cost half of the
total cost of ownership’s revenue.

The best way to use the indent based networking by giving the customer high availability of the
network and the agility of the network will be responsible for the network performance in order
to increase the efficiency and reducing the cost we need to find the point where the ibn is
working in stable state with low usage of resources. That point will be the great role for test out
the validation and the translation of the network. We should be aware about the network no
network is 100 percent efficiency. If the network is going to have a bottle neck and that is found
earlier we can the redirect the traffic instead of auto scaling the resources which uses more
energy and the power. In IBN– the system are be monitored continuously in real time for the
different requirement because each business setup will be different to each other because if on
company focus on the availability another company may be concentrating on accuracy in the if
the intent is not giving the optimized solution or the expected solution . We can change the way
of the architecture .for suiting the best of the networking needs.
