INTRODUCTION
Urban park refers to a park or another incorporated spaces that offers recreation as well
as green spaces for residents and visitors. Design, operation as well as maintenance of urban
parks are usually conducted by agencies of government at a local level. Common features of
urban park involve playgrounds, running track, gardens, public restrooms, picnic facilities as
well as availability of natural features. It provides an access for recreational opportunities and
enhances value of property that are near urban parks. Apart from it, formulation of urban parks
leads to spurring of local economies and provides positive impact to an environment. Another,
benefit which is associated with creation of urban park is that it encourages an active lifestyle
among people and reduces negative health impacts. Reason is that it provides an opportunity to
people for conducting physical activities which helps in prevention of various mental as well as
physical issues that are faced by people. Apart from it, it strengthens local economy of a nation
and creates various opportunities for job related to development and implementation of urban
parks. Further, it enhances resilience of cities and improvises engagement level of community
(Cheung and Fernandez, 2020). On the contrary, implementation of urban parks also possesses
some challenges which are related to mapping of green spaces as well as understanding or
measuring its recreational or cultural usage. Further, issue related to budget constraints are also
faced in context to Urban parks. Another challenge is that it pertains lack of robust analysis of
cost-benefit.
This report is based on analysis regarding building of a new urban park, along with its
impacts. It covers identification of three perspectives, that are, health, economy and tourism.
However, main perspective for this report is regarding evaluation of impact of urban park in
association with tourism, hospitality as well as event industries.

Urban parks are areas of open spaces that are constructed of reserved for the purpose of
public usage which is beneficial in several ways. Its impact is evaluated in the three distinctive
perspectives, that are, health, economical, and tourism or environmental which are described
below:

Health impacts:
Modern life style of people nowadays incorporates chronic stress, environmental hazards,
as well as insufficiency in relation to physical activities. Here, urban parks play a very critical
role in enhancement of health of people. As, such green spaces which involves parks, residual
greenery as well as playgrounds that leads to promotion of mental health and physical health of
citizens. Green spaces which are provided by urban parks serves as a reason for improvisation of
public health by providing them psychological relaxation as well as provides alleviation from
stress. Apart from it, urban parks enable stimulation of social cohesion, supports physical
activity, as well as reduces exposure to pollutants of air (Crompton, 2020). Hence, it can be
stated that urban parks provide an environment to citizens which is supportive and encourage
physical and mental wellness as it boosts a person to concentrate on their health by ensuring
availability of facilities such as, walking track, gym equipment etc. and greenery provides mental
peace to a person. From the jogging to biking paths, playgrounds, sporting facilities, as well as

healthy.
Economic impact:
Building of urban parks also pertains an economic impact as it leads to strengthening of
local economies. Reason is that urban parks attracts resident as people visit it for the purpose of
spending time in a green environment which provides relaxation to them. Another reason for
gathering of people in such open spaces is for the purpose of conducting physical activities, such
as, walking, running, exercising etc. Hence, it can be stated that urban parks prove to be spot for
gathering of people and wherever large number of public gathers that space is most suitable for
enhancement of businesses. Hence, various small business is opened near the locality of urban
parks which claims to satisfy requirements of public. Such type of venture can be of green juices
for fitness freaks, candies for kids, etc. In this way small ventures earns revenue and their
profitability is enhanced. It spurs private investments and opportunities related to job in a nation
also enhances as requirement of staff members increases in a growing entity. Overall, it leads
towards enhancement of disposable income of customers. Hence, in such ways implementation
of urban parks pertains positive impact on economical condition of a country. Apart from it,
proximation of parks improvises value of nearby property which ultimately results in
enhancement of tax revenue related to such properties. Further, creation of well-planned urban

Further, implementation of urban parks helps a nation in boosting revenue which is generated
through tourism as it becomes a tourist spot of a country. Overall, it can be stated that urban
parks often serve as an engine for driving tourism as model of tourism and visitors utilise some
driving or transportation mode for the purpose of leaving their home and travelling to attractions.
Such attractions as well as support services provides essential information to them and promotes
offering to tourist which proves to be its potential visitors. Urban parks prove to be such type of
attraction for tourist system. In addition to it, various types of special events as well as festivals
are provided by urban parks which leads towards attraction of tourism. Another impact of urban

tourism, which is transient as well as flexible, hence it can be utilised to extension and creation a
tourism season for community (Mashhadi and et.al., 2020). Further, urban parks are proving to
be a location of choice in case of festivals as well as events as it is often located in a centre and
gathering places are intended for facilitating recreation. Hence, it accommodates a temporary
infrastructure which does not pertain any major disruption in case of functions.
Environmental perspective:
Constantly evolving and transforming technological developments in urban area leads to
reduction in availability of green spaces. Here, building of urban parks provides an opportunity
for enhancement of natural and green spaces in a nation that is beneficial for environment as well
as health of people (Thralls, 2018). Greenery makes people forget about their daily hectic
schedule and provides calmness to them. In addition to removal of pollution, such type of green
spaces ensures utilization of carbo dioxide which helps in reduction of climate change. As it is
known that greenery contributes in lowering of pollution related to air as well as fights climate
change which proves to be most beneficial point for creation of urban parks.
Social perspective:
Implementation of urban parks helps in promotion of community wellness by improvising
aerobic exercise which makes people more active and awareness regarding their health. Urban
parks on the one hand provides mental wellness to people by serving green spaces and relaxation
time to people (Zhang and Tan, 2019).

CONCLUSION
From the above report it can be concluded that urban parks is a open space that provides an
opportunity to visitors for enjoying nature as well as for getting fit conducting physical activities
such as walking, running as well as cycling. It pertains various impacts on health of people,
economy of a nation as well as on activities related to tourism as well as events. Health benefit is
that formulation of urban parks serves as an opportunity for improvisation of natural or green
spaces in a country that pertains positive impact on environment and health of visitors. In case of
economical perspective urban parks leads towards providing of greatest value for natural
amenities as well as provides recreational opportunities which often lies in ability of land which
helps in attracting and retaining people, businesses, as well as entrepreneurs. Further, in
consideration to its impact on tourism and event organization urban parks leads towards creation
of a source of attraction for tourism, that is transient and flexible, therefore it helps be usage to
extension as well as creation a tourism.
RECOMMENDATIONS
While providing recommendations in context to urban parks it can stated that urban parks
along with trails as well as open green spaces should remain open and green. Modifications in
relevance to scheduling may be required for the purpose of controlling the number of users at a
particular period of time as well as allows for appropriate distancing. Staff that are from various
departments may be required for the purpose of ensuring monitoring, guidance and for ensuring
that all the stated rules and regulations are adequately followed. Effective policies in relation to
schedules as well as modify fees helps in determination of best practices for ensuring effective
balancing for expanding access along with strategies or policies for controlling the number of
users.
