Task1

Employability skills refers to non technical skills which is require for purpose of completion of a
job . This presentation includes analysation of different academic and employability skills along
with published literature.

Academic skills are a collection of different learning strategies as well as strategic habits of a
person that assist student for purpose of learning and absorbing lessons (Aliu and Aigbavboa,
2019. These skills help a student in order to be more efficient and also boost their confidence in
order to activity participate in different activity organised at academic life of a person. In order to
develop good career opportunity, a person needs to develop good academic skills.

Time management skills: Time management is one of important skills for intended career like
Human resource management as it is important for a me to develop a schedule and manage time
for different activities to be conducted at academic life (Bhagra and Sharma, 2018). While study
in Human resource management, there are different assignments are assign by professors in order
to develop basis skills and for completion this on time, it is essential for me or develop good
career opportunity.
Technology skills: In academic life of a student, I need to develop technology skills. It helps me
to complete a task with help of technology like computer based technique and other associated
technology. During academic life, I needs to give various presentation which is also required for
my intended career like human resource and for which I needs to develop this skill.
Communication skills: Communication is also one of important skills require by a person for
purpose of sharing views, thoughts and ideas to another person in a clear manner which can be
understandable by them (Cotronei-Baird, 2020). It is an important skills require by me in my
academic life as it is important in order to develop career in human resource management. It also
helps me for purpose of public speaking, giving presentation which is important in order to get
food grades. It also sallow me to give different interviews conducted at university in effective
manner which provide me good career opportunity.

It is key element in my life as it can be developing by me while completing higher education a
university where I get opportunity to develop academic as well as professional skill. It allows me
to improve my motivation, confidence and also improve my performance (GOMEZ and PETER,
2017). It provides guidance to me about how to communicate with other employees and giving
presentation related to responsibility, practices as well as desire objectives.

Decision making: It is important skills for me to develop in order to build my career in human
resource field (Griffin and Coelhoso, 2019). There are various decision needs to take by me in
order to overcome of problems and challenges.
Conflict resolution: There are various people work in an organist for purpose of attainment of
common goals (Nisha and Rajasekaran, 2018). In a HR field, I need to solve these problems
occur at workplace. It is important for purpose of focusing on career attainment and also ignore
non require activity.
Leadership skills: It is essential in order to influence behaviour of other towards attainment of
goals. In HR field, I need to lead whole team for purpose of success of organisation and also
provide them guidance which is essential. It helps me to motivate employees to work with more
dedication and commitment.

World of work refers to combination of different components like jobs, occupation and other
things (Preston and Rosairo, 2021). Different types of academic as well as employability skills
provide experience and knowledge which allow me to differentiate myself from others for
developing intended career. Some of these skills require by a person is mentioned below:

INTRODUCTION
Academic and employability skills are important in life of students which provide them various
opportunity in life (Schnell and Rodríguez, 2017). It is important for an individual as it allow
them to learn things in more effective manner. It decreases numbers of hours to be spend by a
person for their study and allow them to study more in effective manner. These skills make a
person more capable and also allow them to put more efforts in life. This project report includes
reflection learning through Gibbs relation model that cover different topics like public speaking,
CV writing, time management, academic writing and many more.
MAIN BODY
Gibbs model of reflection
Gibbs model of reflection is one of model which is introduced by Graham Gibbs in the year 1988
in order to provide a learning structure for purpose of learning experience. It is providing a
framework for purpose of examining experience and also provide cyclic nature that lends to well
repeated experience and allow a person to learn and plan from different things which went well
or no well (Sokhanvar, Salehi and Sokhanvar, 2021). It consists different stages including
description, feeling, action plan, analysis, evaluation and action plan. It is a way which allow a
person to work through their experience and can be stand along experience or situation with
which a person go through. For this, Gibbs is one of appropriate model with which a person go
through different situation and allow a person to meet with a team with which a person
collaborate it. There are various benefits to this model get by a person which are as follows:
 It is a model which is easy to understand for a learner and also allow a person to learn
things over times on their experience.
 It provides more balance and accurate judgement to a person which allow them for
purpose of be to more effective (Suleman, 2018).
 It allows people to thing in a clear as well as systematic ways from their learning
experience.
 It also encourages people in order to make sense do situation and allow them to work in
more effective manner.

Public speaking and giving presentation
Description: In order to develop public speaking and presentation skills, teacher provided us
assignment in which we need to prepare a presentation and present it in front of whole class. It is
group presentation in which, I needs to select group members and for this I select two of my
friends (Vitalaru, 2021). For this, I take initiate and divide whole work among us in which we
write content for different topic but due to some miscommunication, we have write content in
different writing styles. It creates problems as deadline of this assignment is on next day for
which, we all have cancelled our plan and started writing out assignment which can be done on
deadline.
Feelings: Before starting this module, I was happy as I needs to complete this assignment with
my friends with whom I have strong bonding. But at time, we came together in order to complete
work, I realise there are a lot of work which I need to do with my group members. With
completion of time, there is problem occur due to miscommunication and we feel like we will
not compete it on time and due to which we got frustrated. But in the end, we work hard and
complete work on time, that makes us satisfied.
Evaluation: There are some things which worked well in this assignment as we completed work
in good quality before deadline of projects. Although we have cancelled all our personal plan for
completion of this work but it provides us motivation for purpose of completion of work. In this
work, all members are positively contributed towards work ethic but there is one thing that create
problem for us is that we assume that we all are writing in same manner.
Analysis: This go well due to our work commitment and dedication. For completion of project
on time, all members compromise their personal goals for attainment of group goals (Wandhe,
2020). There are lack of communication between embers related to writing style create problems
for members. We made sense of situation in order to learn that it is essential to communicate
each and every activity with different members.
Conclusion: I have learned various new things from a situation as it learned to divide whole
work and plan things in manner which is convenient for others. I learned that division of work
should be done in a manner which allow a person to complete it together and submit it for
rewriting. It is also important for a person to identify strength and suggest things with using
Belbin team roles framework for longer projects.

Action Plan: If same situation occurs even in future that I will handle it differently as instead of
getting frustrated, I work more patiently. It allows to take better decision and also helps me for
purpose of handle team effectively. I will develop these skills but Takei classes and also in my
academic life. I will develop these skills and develop an experience and act differently in future
if same situation occurs.
Time management
Description: Time management skill is one of important skill which allow me to divide time in a
manner that is important for completion of time. I join classes of time management where
teacher is providing us knowledge and understanding of time management skills. For this, they
are teaching us and also providing us assignment based on topic of time management (Wolff and
Booth, 2017). For this, I decided to gather information and started to complete work on time. But
to due to some miscommunication, I have not completed my assignment one day before. But
later on, my friend informs me about deadline and I work hard to complete that project on time.
Feelings: Before stating this project, I was excited as I have knowledge about this module. But
with starting this project, I get to know that there is more work I needs to done for completion of
this project and also needs to gather all information for assignment from different source, I have
lecture notes and other books from where I gather important information require for this project
but later on due to some problems, I got frustrated and also get stressed. But, with my hard work,
we have decided to compete work on time.
Evaluation: I completed work on time and getting good grades in class is one of based things in
this experience but I needs to work under pressure and also needs to cancel my plan make is
based (Wrye, Chafin and Higginbotham, 2019). Me after get to know right deadline of project
worked very hard which allow me to complete work on time.
Analysis: My initiation of work, gathering of data with relevant source worked very well. It
allows me to gather most of information related to project which helps to improve quality of my
work. It is essential for purpose of completion of work and also to put whole work together. I
make sense of situation that it is important for me to ensure deadline of a work which is
important to complete work in effective manner and also to manage time. My knowledge of time
management helps to me in this situation as on basis of that knowledge, I have completed my
work on time.

Conclusion: I have learned various new things from this situation which allow me to work in
effective manner. I also leaner about different tools of time management, important of time
management skills and other things in this. This situation can be more positive if I know right
deadline of project. I need to develop more skills in order to handle stress which is important for
a person.
Action Plan: If I will work in next time, I will cross check different thing which is important for
me. I will develop necessary skills requirement for completion of work which helps to me act
differently. I also develop experience which hallow me to learn new things that is important in
order to act differently in future period of time.
CV writing
Description: In order to apply for a job placement at University, my teacher is asked me to write
a CV which consist important information about an individual. It includes information related to
my academic life, knowledge, skills, interest, training and other things. For this, I asked my
teacher to helps me and provide me sample CV with which I was able to understand how to write
an effective CV. It helps me to apply for different jobs and can be appear for interviews. But
later on teacher review my CV and tell me that it is not designed properly for which I needs to
rewrite this CV.
Feelings: I was nervous when as it is the first time, I was writing a CV and at same time happy
cause with this, I am able to apply for jobs. But while writing CV, I realise that it is difficult to
analyse your own skills and for which, I conduct SWOT analysis which helps me to identify my
skills. I also needs to rewrite my CV which make me frustrated and demotivated but later on I
write my CV in effective manner for which I get appreciated from teachers.
Evaluation: There are various things which worked well in this experience that I write an
effective CV which is attractive and eye-catching. But I need to rewrite it due to its poor design
which is bad experience. There is a thing which does not worked well is that I thought my design
will be best but that is not good for professional CV.
Analysis: My tutor guidance helps me to work well which is important for completion of work
in effective manner. It is important in order to complete work and apply for jobs. There are some
things which does not work well as my design selection for CV.
Conclusion: I have learned to division of work and link it to complete in effective manner. I also
learn about CV and its writing style along with it I also learn new designs of CV. CV is

important in order to apply for a job which is essential in order to find out new job opportunity.
There is different skill, I learn with completion of this task like improving writing skills, self-
analysation and many more.
Action Plan: Action plan is another stage of Gibbs model of reflection. I also learn many new
things in this situation as I learn about CV and other components of CV. I will act differently if
same situation occurs in future. I will act different with development of necessary skills require
for completion of same work in future.
CONCLUSION
From above mentioned project report, it can be concluded that employability and academic skills
are important for a person in order to develop a career opportunity. It consists different skills in
order to make a person efficiency. In order to analyse their skill, a person can use different self-
analysis tools like SWOT analysis, Skills audit and personal development plan. A person can use
refection order in order to express their view and recall their experience.
