INTRODUCTION
Academic skills is the skills which is required for making the learning more effective
which are important for the success and growth in the career. These skills are an arrangement
which helps to tackle the procedure of taking any new information so that the individual could be
able to conduct its assessments(Lantsoght, 2018, p.121). It is very important for the students as
well as for the tutors to learn the academic integrity which will help them in providing the
studies with honesty and trust. Academic misconduct means any unfairness which is done by the
student in their academics. This means to do cheating, plagiarism and many other which
basically aims to gain any unfair advantage in the studies. This report will cover academic
integrity, its importance, implications of academic misconduct, difficulties encountered in the
game design and the skills which have been learned in academic year and while producing the
game.
MAIN BODY
Academic integrity
Academic integrity is the process in which the teachers and the students have to act in a
fair term which means that they have to show trust and honesty in their studies. It is the main aim
of University which means to exchange the ideas and the knowledge by the tutors and the
students but in full trust. It is very important in the University to make the rules which are for
avoiding any type of misconduct which might happen in the University(Linder and et. al., 2018,
p.325). Academic integrity in the end will be useful for the students only as this will help in their
career goals and success. This is because if the students will learn and get more information for
their study then they will develop knowledge which will be important for them only. Academic
misconduct is the process in which the student will do any such thing which will not be good for
them including the cheating, unauthorized collaboration and many other(Joyce and et. al., 2018,
p.429).

Thus, academic integrity is helpful for the students as it provides the best way of
achieving success which is on the basis of the honest attitude developed by the student for their
success. For the students learning the habit of academic integrity will make them better in their
life because in the end this will provide them the opportunity to grab the information and learn
new things which will not be made during any of the misconduct which they may do for higher
grades. But for this the students have to develop good attitude towards the study so that they will
not fail in an assignment or to leave the University(Mitana and et. al., 2019 ,p.63). Not just for
the students but it is also important for the University in building their good image because of
any misconduct will be done it can hinder the image. They have to be trustworthy towards their
quality and the standards so that students can become confident with the degrees which they will
be taking from the University(Schipper and van der Stappen, 2018, p.220).
Importance of academic integrity in higher education
Academic integrity is the way in which student as well as the teacher has to work in
ethics and with trust so that there is no misconduct in the University. In the higher education, in
which students become capable of the things which they have to do and this is the time in which
they have to learn many new things including the skills and other knowledgeable information
which will be helpful for them in the future. But at certain point of time it has been seen that
students perform the activity of academic misconduct in which they do cheating to get the pass
scores which ultimately would not be beneficial for them in their career and for their future
growth. So academic integrity is helpful for the students as other can trust on them easily as to
what they are saying and working(Schipper and van der Stappen, 2018, p.220). Doing good
things in the University will help the student in building their good image in the University as
other will trust on them which is a good skill to develop.
The other is that integrity provides good job opportunity as employers will always chose
that type of employee in their organisation who have good integrity. They want to know that
employees which they are keeping have met all the regularization and standards including the
degree with good feedbacks. It is very important for the students because when they conduct all
of their assignments on their own it provides them the ability to tackle all the challenges and
issues which they might face in their future(McGann and et. al., 2021, p.1168). This is because
if students will work on their own and their assignments then in the future where they will be

doing the job and if any issues comes to them then the knowledge which have been gained by
them will be used in handling such situations. Not for students this academic integrity is useful
for the University in developing their good image because if any of the misconduct will be made
then no student would like to take degree from that particular University.
Implications of academic misconduct
Academic misconduct or dishonesty is the measure in which the student tries to gain or
makes an attempt to gain any academic advantage which is based on unfair terms. This means to
take any of the materials which is unauthorized in nature including taking any mobile phone to
copy the answers or any of the electronic device which will help in cheating during the
exams(Dunne, 2019, p.100). Such types of things are mainly done by the students and the reason
for this is that they want to increase their grades in the academics or might have not studied for
the exam which is why they are taking the help of some thing which is unfair.
Students have to suffer lot of issues if they are seen doing any of the academic misconduct in
which some of the things include fines, losses, not giving the degree and many other thing. Not
just for the students it will also ruin the image of University because students of their University
are doing such type of things(Chassidim, Almog and Mark, 2018, p.641). If the teachers have
seen that assignments are copied or renamed with the name of another is also a misconduct by
which teachers can give the student to redo the assignments again. This is the only factor which
can create the problem to the students as well as to the University.
Academic misconduct have some type which have been explained below-
Cheating- Cheating is the way in which the student makes the copy of another student
projects or any assignment which is unfair and shows the dishonesty in performing the
work. Or it can include to check other answers which they are writing and copying the
same in their answer sheet (Joyce and et. al., 2018, p.429). This cheating which is done
by the student stops them to grow for their future because they are doing cheating so that
could be able to get good marks or they might have not studied for the exams.
Plagiarism- Plagiarism is the way in which the student makes the copy of other person
material and tells them as their own. It is basically the use of intellectual property of the
other person which is a unfair practice and this is done by the student because they either

don't want to do hard work on the assignments which is given to them or they don't have
to conduct any research work(McGann and et. al., 2021, p.1168). While studying in
University also, this practice can be seen as normal but it is wrong practice for which the
standards are set.
Explain the steps which are taken and the difficulties which are faced for the game design
For the game design which have been taken was Snipping plagiarism in which the student
have to flip the card in the virtual mode in which there will be six cards. Each card will have
some or the other questions but all the questions will be related with plagiarism which comes up
in the academic integrity(Chassidim, Almog and Mark, 2018, p.641). The development of this
game was quite difficult as I have to conduct communication with the leader for the team for
designing the questions and the software. This was the most difficult thing which I have done
and not just this there were other problems also which was faced by me during the development
of this game. In this game, when the student provides the answers which needs to be appropriate
with that of the question and then only the student will be passed for evaluating the plagiarism in
its assignment. These were the steps which needs to be followed by the student but the
development of this game was a time consuming process and took enough time of mine(Bowers,
Whitford and Maines, 2018, p.180).
There were certain difficulties which were faced by me including the technical issues
which is an important part for the formulation of any game. In that game it was also important to
include some fun otherwise the student might feel bored while playing this game(Follmer, 2018,
p.53). The other thing was structuring the game effectively which has taken my good amount of
time and after this the other impact which was taken by the game was the efficiency which was
not carried out because of the structuring of time. My leader have also not taken the game
seriously and all the burden come to me for the development and launching of a game.
Skills learned in the academic year and those which have been learned during the game design
During the academic year I have learned many skills and this has also helped me in my
game design. But in the game design there were several other things which I have learned and
which will help me in my future as this will give me confidence for the development of other

games. Skills which have been learned in the academic year and those which have been learned
during the game design have been mentioned below-
Communication- This skill I have learned in my academics as during the studies it is
obvious as one will ask questions to teachers so that they can provide them the
information in which the student is facing some issues(Joyce and et. al., 2018, p.429). For
that they have to make effective communication and in such way only I have developed
my communication skills which has helped me in solving the challenges and I can
confidently talk to other person without any hesitation.
Technical skills- In the game design it is important to learn technical skills because this
will be used for the formulation of the games. While making the game I have learned
many new things which are related with the technical knowledge and which will be
important for the production of other games.
Time management- This skill is considered to be the most important one which is
learned not just in the studies but also during the making of game design. In the
academics, time management is crucial so that the student can learn the management of
their studies and other things properly(Bowers, Whitford and Maines, 2018, p.180).
While in the game, there are some targets which are set for the completion of the game.
The structure is also formulated for the game development which needs to be presented
on time for better results in game design.
CONCLUSION
From the above report it can be concluded that academic integrity is the most important
factor which the student has to follow. It is the responsibility of a University also to make sure
that the students are following the guidelines of a integrity so that it does not gives bad image of
the institution. Academic misconduct on the other hand is an attempt when the students is using
that medium which is considered to be a dishonest behaviour. So, it is the duty of a student to
behave in a honest and in a faithful manner.
