Introduction
Academic integrity refers to the norms, regulations that are formulated by educational
institutions in order to manage all the academic activities in systematic way. In this context, rules
are prepared by universities with an aim to regulate the behavior of staff members and staff.
Academic integrity aims to keep control over dishonest practices and behavior in academic
setting. Apart from this, academic integrity also facilitates innovation and creativity (Thomas and
Jeffers, 2020). It allows staff members as well as students to embark new and creative ideas
within educational institutions. Here, certain pillars of academic integrity are identified as
honesty, fairness, respect and trust. The present study is about importance of academic integrity.
Further, adversities and challenges which are encountered during development of game have also
covered in the assignment. At end, it also comprises skills developed during game development.

Academic integrity
In academic integrity, there is an expectation that teachers, students and all members will
act with honesty, fairness, responsibility in academic setting. It allows students and staff
members to build new ideas and embark creativity at work place. Main purpose of academic
integrity is to control on dishonest and inappropriate activities for betterment of educational
institutions. Rules are structured by universities and educational institutions in order to maintain
integrity in academic setting. Teachers and students both are responsible to maintain integrity
within institution (Striepe, Thomson and Sefcik, 2021). In this context, students need to follow
fair practices and need to avoid inappropriate behavior. They need to write fair reports,
assignments without any plagiarism. On other side, teachers are required to convey best possible
information to students. They need to resolve the queries of students in timely manner and also
provide constant assistance to them. At higher educational level, academic integrity is highly
important. For this purpose, certain crucial pillars of academic integrity are stated below:
Honesty: It is concern with true and fair practices in academics in order to get success. It
focuses that individuals are required to perform assigned work with due diligence and fairness in
order to maintain the integrity.

Trust: It is the foundation of strong relationship. For successful completion of academic
projects, it is required to maintain trust amongst team members. Trust is highly crucial for
completing group projects in an efficient manner (Chugh and et. al., 2021).
Fairness: As per this component, all the tasks of academic need to perform fairly. It is
required that students and staff members both perform their duties in fair manner. In this context,
students are required to prepare reports fairly whereas teachers need to evaluate the work on fair
basis.
Responsibility: It is about giving respect to others to other’s view point and opinions.
Here, it is the responsibility of students to respect their faculties. They are required to obey the
instructions of teachers. In addition to this, they need to listen to teachers and complete the given
assignment in timely manner. It is also required for faculty members to listen the thoughts of
students (Burgis-Kasthala, 2020).
Importance of academic integrity
Academic integrity is a crucial concept that helps in facilitating creativity in academic
setting. With this, it is ensured that all the activities are taken out in an appropriate way. It helps
in improving behavior of students. Apart from this academic integrity is also important in terms
of maintaining the prestigious of college in market. Getting involved in inappropriate practice
might hamper existing reputation of university. Academic integrity is really important in order to
carry out all the necessary activities in college in systematic and proper way. With this, students
get more aware about their studies. They start to follow appropriate practices. It helps them in
getting growth and success in career in future period of time. It is identified that academic
integrity also helps in facilitating innovation and creativity within university. Academic integrity
is followed in order to maintain credibility of degree. If institution follows academic integrity, it
is good for their reputation (Baporikar, 2019). It also helps in well-being and development of
whole society. Main significance of academic integrity is the value of degree. It is seen that
employer prefer those employees whom they believe to have personal integrity. Therefore,
academic integrity enhances value of degrees so that students can easily get better employment.
Following academic integrity also offers mental peace. Individuals believe that whatever they are
doing is right ethically and morally. It improves their self esteem and allows living life with

higher level of satisfaction. Hence, academic integrity facilitates fair practices in academic
setting by avoiding dishonest practices.
Implications of academic misconduct
Academic misconduct is a major issue that has a lot of serious implications. Academic
misconduct is related with getting involve in appropriate activities like cheating, plagiarism and
so on. There are different implications of academic misconduct which differ from university to
university. In this context, certain general implications that all followed by each and every
college are given as under:
 Certain actions like fines, loss of future projects are some of the major implications
related to academic misconduct. These activities hamper the brand image of university
and also put serious impact over future of students. Getting involved in such activities
might hamper whole life of students (Orr and Orr, 2021).
 It might have serious implications like suspension and rustication from university. This
kind of act might destroy the entire future of students. They are not able to get admission
in any college or university again. Apart from this, it might ruin the current image of
educational institution.
 Here, implications can differ as per the level and type of misconduct. In case of copying
the assignment, report and instructor might cancel the present assignments and reports.
Faculty members have also right to ask the student to redo the assignment even they can
fail the student in particular subject. Hence, implication can differ that as per the type o
misconduct. Serious misconduct might lead to suspension on other side there are also
implications such as failure and re-do the work (Tsigaros and Fesakis, 2020).
 Academic misconduct also becomes a reason of loss related to intellectual property. Here,
plagiarism is related with stealing original content of some other author. This issue arises
when one uses the creation of some other author without taking the consent of that
person. It hampers the intellectual property and also affects the image of author in
adverse manner.
 There are also personal implications of academic misconduct. Students who are involved
in such activities feel guilt and also have issues related to self-esteem. They feel degrade

and loss their self respect. It might cause anxiety, depression and other such issues in
future period of time (Yeh, 2021).
With above information, it is analyzed that there are several implications of academic
misconduct. Here, implications are legal, social as well as personal. It also depends on the
seriousness of misconduct. It is identified that implication can as normal as redo the
assignment and it can be serious as suspension and rustication from college.

Steps and difficulties encountered during game development
Steps for producing the game
There are a lot of steps performed while developing a game. In present situation, a game
related to academic integrity board game has been developed. In order to get predefined result. In
this context steps are outline below.
 In order to develop the game, firstly, I determined the whole concept of game that will be
related to cards. It is a variant of renowned snake and ladder board game. I also consider
knowledge and skills of students while producing the game.
 After concept development, I developed the whole game and also invite some students in
order to test game before actual implementation. It will help me to know the scope of
improvement in game in order to make it more effective.
 On getting positive response from students, I will launch the game and encourage more
and more students to participate in the same.
Difficulties in game development
It is difficult to get a suitable idea for game development. It requires extensive market
research which is costly and time taking. I also undertake detailed market research so that I will
be able to produce one suitable game. Here, I spend a lot of amount, energy as well as time
during this research work. In addition to this, I also devoted a lot of time in brainstorming
session by which I developed the creative idea of game. Apart from this, resources also require to
develop the game. I also need to arrange resources such as funds, place and more. Encouraging

students to take part in game is also a challenging task. I also face difficulties in motivating
students so that they participate in game. I also need to put time as well as cost for proper
development. There are some legal and security concerns also need to face while producing a
game. I considered all the legal requirements before development of game so that I do not need
to face any difficulties in future period of time. The whole process of game development and
launch is not easy. I faced challenges at each and every stage. However, I encounter all the
challenges with great courage and positive attitude that will help me in getting stipulated
outcomes through game.
Skills learned during semester and game development
I developed various skills while involving in the process of game production. I also got
opportunity to learn a lot during semester. I got management skills while studying in semester. I
used to take part in ample of activities and also got opportunity to manage a lot of functions at a
time. It developed my managerial competency that will help me in performing well in job in
future period of time. Management skills will assist me in undertaking and performing assigned
work with utmost efficiency. It will allow me to handle different activities at work place at a
same time. With this, I can put positive influence on my peers, colleagues and other people.
Further, I also got the opportunity to manage a team of different individuals during semester
activities. Here, I developed leadership capabilities that will help me in leading and guiding other
people at work place. This skill will make me enable to guide, direct as well as lead team
members in right direction. While producing game, I face several difficulties that prepared me
for future obstacles. Now, I have positive attitude that allows me to put efforts until not get the
success. During game development, I need to make proper plan which improved my planning
skills. It make me able forecast the future and take suitable actions accordingly. I also interacted
with various people during the process of game development. It improved my interpersonal
skills. This skill will help me in interacting with other people in an effective way. It also allowed
me to conquer over my feeling of public speaking. Now, I can easily interact with anyone
without any hesitation. Time management skills are also developed during the game. I managed
different tasks during game development. It improved my time management capabilities. As a
result, now I am able to complete assign work within the predefined schedule. It also enhanced
my capabilities of completing the work within scheduled time. I also developed team work skills
during game development. I worked with a lot of different people while producing game. During

this period, I learn how to work in a team by collaborating with other people. Therefore, I
developed ample of skills during semester and game development. These skills will help me in
getting success and growth in career in future period of time.

Conclusion
It is concluded with above information that academic integrity refer to maintaining
fairness, transparency in academic setting. It focuses on minimizing inappropriate activities in
academics. There is discussion regarding significance of academic integrity. It is concluded that
there are serious implications of academic misconduct. These implications can be legal, social
and personal. It is analyzed that there a lot of issues faced while developing a game. However, I
also developed various skills during the process of game development.
