This report covers the description of academic integrity, its importance in universities, and the implications of academic misconduct. It also reflects on the steps and difficulties encountered in producing a game for Project 2 and the skills learned. The report emphasizes the importance of time management, technical IT skills, creativity skills, and critical thinking skills in academic writing and game designing.

INTRODUCTION
Academic integrity is the practice at the educational level where the students and teacher
so the high education work ethically without any unfair means or actions. In order to have fair
educational practices where the deserving and intelligent students receives the good grades for
the hard work and efforts the most important thing is to maintain academic integrity (Sotiriadou
and et. al., 2020). In is acquainted that in universities there is sudden increase in unethical
practices like plagiarism, cheating etc. Therefore, it is very important for universities to involve
the students into some activities that can create and generate the learning regarding the
importance of academic integrity among the students for their personal and professional growth.
The present report will cover the description of academic integrity, importance of this in
universities and high education and the implications of academic misconduct. Further in the next
session there is reflection of steps to produce the game and difficulties encountered during that.
Also there is reflection of the skills learned.

Description of Academic Integrity
The academic integrity is the large concept that outlines several attributes and integration
of all is helpful to an individual to avoid academic dishonesty and misconduct in academic
course. Academic integrity is the concept that has five pillars and when all are followed by heart
in the academic course then the assessment submitted by student is done with integrity (Abdalla
and Abdalla, 2021). The five pillars of academic integrity are:

Honesty: it is a requisite foundation for the learning, research and teaching and is also essential
to fulfil the other 4 pillars of the academic integrity. In the academic policies there should be
honesty for which academic community must circulate a clear and transparent message that any
kind of misconduct such as academic fraud, cheating, lying is highly unacceptable.
Trust: trust is the base line for an relation in the academic integrity the trust is a factor that
encourages and foster the open communication where the free ideas can be shared without any
fear of stealing. The teachers also set trust in student by setting proper guidelines regarding the
evaluation of assessment.
Fairness: there must be fairness in the teaching and evaluation of the assessments of the student
in the community of academic integrity. For fairness the transparency, impartial judgement is
key to treat every student with fairness. Every student expects a fair academic work in order to
receive fair opportunities in future.
Respect: in the scholarly community in order to succeed with pride and act cooperative
respecting each other ideas, values, honor is highly important (Eaton, 2021). Every student is
asked to respect their teachers.
Responsibility: taking responsibility of what is done by a student or teacher by accepting their
mistake is also the part of academic integrity as this make one realize their mistake and give
scope of resolution.
Importance of academic integrity in higher education
Academic writing is a term used to provide facts or information to explain certain facts or to
obtain research and to convince students that their meaning or theory is correct. It is a very
important ability in academic relationships as writing is a key form of educational
communication. Academic writing serves as a communication instrument that says about the
understanding gained in a particular field of study. It will assist the scholars identify, carry
acknowledgement, thinking in a different manner and concentrates on strategy and way.
Permits a scholar to convey their acknowledgement: When students read on difficult subjects, it
can sometimes be different and tough to discuss about their reading or knowing, specifically if
they have difficulty writing academically for graduation with scholars. Essays give the reader the
opportunity to express what they have read using correct words to do the data easier to check,
specifically when speaking to the people (Morrow, 2018).
The academic text should utilise clarity in language to ensure that the reader understands the

meaning. This contains the utilising of technology which is also unique to the topic, which is
connected to the vocab used to express meaning more accurately than the same technical word.
This is utilised in writing when one uses information, dates or numbers as mentioned by 50
million people in a story. Correct writing means that this is correct what permits students to
clearly follow the process and the argument. When writing to an experienced audience, an
accurate, accurate story is important.
Concentrates on techniques and critical thinking: Educational writing concentrates on the way
and style compared to other informal writing styles. It has used to figure out different styles in
which style and style can acknowledge ideas. If a student understands the style of writing essays
well in advance, they will search it easier to write academic papers at university (Bateman, ed.,
2021). Some lectures choose styles or clearing helplines, which compel scholars to recognise
these needs and utilise them to come up with an exam that will influence their trainer. Students
can always make the query for assisting with academic writing for all successful students if they
have issues with the strategy because, with advice, it is solved.
Students should not write a biased paper because it does not provide a place for disagreement.
Educational papers that strengthen them to look at all the ideas and research from another prism,
which is what they need to get those good grades.
Implications of academic misconduct
The academic misconduct is the unethical academic activity carried by the student in
which the individual submit all its assessments or exam papers through unfair means like
cheating, academic dishonesty or fraud. In any academic course such activities are not acceptable
by any means whether pursued by the teacher or student it will definitely have some serious
implication. Some of the key implications of the academic misconduct are:
The academic misconduct can lead a person to suspension from the academic course for the
whole year or more. This leads to loss of career and education which results in the failure of
growth and development in comparison to other teammates (Trezise and et. al., 2019).
 It may result in loss of participation from the projects of the University which will result
as the disadvantage for the future opportunities for the career growth and development.
Also this will abide the student from good grades and merits in the education system.
 Attempt of such practice by the teacher leads to the cancellation of license of teaching for

years or may be permanent. Also there are some serious lawsuits and penalties regarding
the unfair practice in judgement and teaching to the students.
 The attempt of academic misconduct by one student lead to disadvantage for the
deserving student as the data stealed or cheated of the student gains the efforts and hard
work of that student. Thus, this can also interchange the victim and person that has
attempted the misconduct which will also give loss of opportunity and reward to
deserving candidates (Ison, 2019).

Reflect on the steps you have taken, and difficulties encountered in producing the game for
Project 2.
The game designing is the complex yet interesting task for me as this included several
steps among which some were complex and some where interesting. During the process of game
designing I have taken conducted several steps that are reflected below:
 Firstly I involved myself into thought process where I brainstormed several ideas related
to the games that would seem interesting to the students and also meet the objective of
designing the game.
 Moving forward I note down all my ideas on paper in order to draw a blue print of the
game that later would be printed or designed as the original game as per my preferences
and expectation.
 In this step I derived the name of the game which was very interesting ask for me as
during which I used my creativity skills (Azizan and et. al., 2018).
 Then I collected resources by gathering information from different sources like internet
and books. This helped me to properly improvise the questions related to the academic
integrity, misconduct and plagiarism into the blocks of captcha.
 The step of coding the game into reality for student to play digitally was very time
consuming and complex. As I have to write codes and check them for the proper
functioning of the game.
Difficulties encountered in producing the game
While designing the game I came across several difficulties which are outlined below:
 The most prominent difficult I faced was ineffective time management due to which I

was many deadlines and my every task was getting delay. This also resulted in higher
cost of using resources and also making my game designing capabilities weaker.
 The other difficult I faced was regarding my inadequate knowledge for the subject of
academic integrity, misconduct and plagiarism. This caused huge problem to me as
before starting the game I have to invest hug time in studying and learning about the
those subjects which actually wasted my time to some extent (Garcia and et. al., 2019).
 I also came across the problem during the mid stage where my codes where crashing to
some errors in my coding. This was due to my no so efficient coding skills and lack of
time to learn the skills. Therefore this consumed a huge time in proper functioning of the
game.
Reflect on the skills you have learned this academic year and those emphasized in producing
your game.
During the whole academic year and while producing the game I have learned many
skills that has enhanced my overall personal skills and professional skills as a university
graduate. The skills that I have learned and are also emphasized in producing the game are
discussed below:
Time management skills: During my academic year the most important skill that I have
learned is time management skills. As in the starting of the year I noticed that I have very weak
time management capabilities due which I was constantly missing important deadlines.
Therefore it became more important for me to enhance my time management skills. During the
game designing each small unit where set on deadlines which helped in learning how to manage
time to work effectively as per the schedule (Koirala, 2021).
Technical IT skills: the technical IT skills in this digital world as really important for me to
grow professionally. For which during my academic year I learned this skills through the activity
of the game design. These skills which I learned during the whole course of academic learning
are also reflected in my game. Learning this skill will benefit in future.
Creativity skills: during my academic career I have learned the creativity skills because they
helped me in making my assessments and tasks more attractive and unique. During the game
design while I was developing blue print, model of the game, design of the game this skills were
used very actively.
Critical thinking skills: In my academic year I has also gained the critical thinking skill. There

were the times when I used to be think about solutions to problems there I learned and improved
my critical thinking skills. For instance at the time of the deciding the name for the game or idea
for the game this skills were highly useful to me.
CONCLUSION
It is concluded from the above report is that an academic writing serves as a
communication tool for gaining understanding in a particular field of reading. Writing in an
academic way that will help scholars to identify and acknowledge the level of understanding,
thinking in a difficult manner and focus on the writing procedure for learning in a different way.
This is very beneficial to assist them in learning in a certain way that is used to write everything
in a simple way. Thus while academic course every person gain or improve some skills that
simply result in the personal and professional development.
