Introduction
Academic integrity refers to the core set of values that helps the student in doing their
work ethically. It is important for students to make sure that they are working ethically and are
not using or interpreting someone else's work as their own work. These values guides and
support the learnings and academic work of the student and make sure that the student is working
to their optimum capacity so that they can perform better on the basis of their own hard work
(Mamaghani and Zolghadri., 2018.). Academic misconduct must be avoided by the student at
any cost as it can not only harm the learning capacity of the student but can also severely affect
reputation of the students. It is also important for schools and universities to make sure that they
are not accepting any misconduct and proper punishments is being provided to the students who
are guilty.
Section-1
Discuss academic integrity.
Academic integrity refers to the values that helps the students in working ethically and
with proper citations. The set of core values includes honesty, fairness, trust, respect,
responsibility. All these factors are important for the individual to keep in mind while doing their
work. Individual must carefully analyse sources from where they are getting information and
must provide proper citations so that they can provide acknowledgement about the information
that they have gathered (Zhang and Xuan., 2019.). If the citations or referencing is not clear then
it will be considered as academic misconduct. It is important for the universities and educational
institutions to make sure that they are providing proper knowledge about academic integrity and
are making students aware about the importance of academic integrity so that students does not
get attracted towards any unethical work. It is important for the students to properly analyse the
copyright and privacy law so that they do not have to suffer from any contingency in the future.
Students must make sure that they are doing their work with no shortcuts and are
providing work with utmost honesty and responsibility. Sense of responsibility makes the student
work even harder and help them in achieving success. Academic dishonesty can ruin the
reputation of the student and will also make them eligible for punishment (Stathopoulou and et.
al., 2018). It is important to analyse first that if the student has done mistake deliberately or it is a
honest mistake. If it is a honest mistake then the student can get some recession in the

punishment but if they have done it knowingly then they are eligible for strict punishment or
even suspension.
The students may face criminal charges for academic misconduct, so it is best for the
student to avoid academic dishonesty or misconduct. It helps the students in enhancing their
learning skills as well as their observing skills. Learning skills of an individual enhances their
research capabilities and will also abide them with research policies which is essential for them.
Importance of academic integrity in higher education
Promotes fairness and honesty: Academic integrity makes sure that the students are
working honestly and fairly. It helps the student in analysing the standard of their work and will
also help in analysing the actual strengths and weaknesses of students (Pereira and et. al., 2019).
Honesty in the work will make sure that the student has put efforts in their work and are eligible
to be rewarded.
Enhances learning skills: When a student tries to do their work on the basis of their
knowledge, they try to explore new things which can help them in their work. That research
helps the students in learning and understanding different things which can help them in future
aspects of their career. It is important for the individual to develop learning skill as it will help
them in understanding the basics of essential topic.
Ensures credibility: Academic integrity makes sure that the individual or student is
focussing on the authentic information and is looking for reliable sources. It enhances the
credibility of the work that the student has done and will ensure that proper references and
citations are provided in the report. It also ensure the credibility of the degree that the student is
pursuing. If the school or university is letting students to copy others work then the degree will
not be credible.
Avoid being penalised: Following academic integrity will make sure that the student is
not getting penalised (Konishi and et. al., 2018.). It is the best way to avoid any punishment as it
will make sure that the student is providing authentic information about the topic and the student
has also provide referencing for information which is used by them in order to complete their
research.
Promotes healthy leaning environment: academic integrity promotes healthy working
environment in an organisation. It makes sure that the students are working in a positive andf

healthy environment which is having a good impact on their mental health and which is
enhancing their learning and observing skills too.
Implications of academic integrity
Social consequences: It refers to the moral consequences of the cheating that is done by
the student. It can be habitual in nature as the student may not get punishment for cheating in the
past activities. This attitude of the individual can be harmful not only for the student but also for
the one that are getting affected by the actions of the student.
Loss of intellectual property: Stealing of someone else's work is equally wrong as of
stealing someone's property (Solimani, Adli and Mehran., 2019.). The original idea of someone
is a property for them which is the reason why they make copyrights of their work. Stealing their
work will be considered as loss of intellectual property.
Inaccurate assessment: Copying someone else's work is an unethical way of doing
work. It decreases the credibility of the work that is submitted by the student and will also
provide an inaccurate assessment of the work done by the student. It does not allow the student
to analyse their own strengths and weaknesses and make them dependent on others work or
research.
Legal consequences: The student may have to face severe legal charges against
plagiarism or cheating. Their is a separate law which provide penalties, fines, etc to the students
for cheating (Nagel and et. al., 2020.). Universities search for sponsors which can help the
students in getting real life experiences so that they can cope with the industry and workings of
actual companies but if students cheat or engage in plagiarism then the sponsors may take formal
actions against students which is not good for their career as well as for the reputation of the
company.
Students self esteem: Students practising cheating or plagiarism may suffer from low
self esteem in the long run. It is also not good for the self confidence of the individual as they
may hesitate to do work which requires their own ideas or which they have to complete without
any support. In order to be successful in the career, it is important for the students to make sure
that they are working on the basis of their knowledge so that when they get success, it can
enhance the self confidence of the individual.

Section-2
Reflection of steps taken and difficulties encountered while producing a game.
The first step was to gather a team which can help us in designing the game. It is
important for us to have a team which can provide creative ideas and give their valuable
contribution of time and efforts in the makings of the game (Wladimir, Luis and María., 2019,
July.). It is important for us to make sure that the game is providing information along with fun.
Another step is to do research about the unique ideas which are most likely to engage the
audience and will also be able to cover all the necessary topics. The game should be a perfect
blend between logic and fun. The difficulty on this step was to match the ideas of the teammates.
It is important for us to make sure that the team members are happy with the concept
chosen. The ideas collected from the team members must be analysed correctly so that the game
does not miss any important information or element. The purpose of the game is to make sure
that students playing the game is getting information about plagiarism and academic misconduct.
After choosing the idea, the main step was to make sure that the work is divided
according to the strengths of the team member so that they can work according to their optimum
efficiency and capabilities (Ang and Choo., 2019.). The difficulty was to analyse whether the
team is working according to the plan or not, also whether we are on the right track or not. It is
important for us to make sure that the team members are fully motivated for the task and the
game as it will enhance their productivity and will improve their perform.
Their was a time when the team was suffering from group conflicts but we make sure that
the work is not suffering because of that. It is important for us to make sure that we are giving
our best performance so that our hard work can pay off. Team conflicts are important to be
addressed carefully in order to make effective decisions. If the conflicts are getting ignored, then
it will severely impact the team spirit of the members and will also have an impact on the
productivity of team members.
Skills learned during academic year and those which have been learned while producing a game
While producing a game I have learned many new skills and not just while producing a
game but in my academic year there were many more skills which have been learned by me and
that have been explained below-
Document Page
Communication skills- In my academic year I have learned many skills but the foremost
which was important for me is the communication skills. While having communication
with other students and teachers I have learned how I have to make conversation with
other people. This skill in my early stage was not good because I used top be a shy person
but in my academics when I have to solve my doubts I have to make question with my
teachers and also have to make conversation with the other students.
Time management- Time management is the most important skills when I am on my
learning stage and which has helped me while producing a new game. Time management
is very essential because with that I have realised that I can work on extra things as well
and in that extra time I have developed the game(Rasheed and et. al., 2020). When I
started managing time in a more productive way then at that time I have started making
research on the game as to what game has to be produced and in which way so that it can
provide the best results.
Patience- This is the most important skill which needs to be developed while producing a
game because in a first attempt it is not possible that can turned out to be great. It needs
some patience and good amount of time if the game has to develop in a productive way.
Patience is required a lot in the game and it is also important for studies. With the
patience only any problem which arrived to me while making the game I have tackled it
in a more individual and in more independent way.
Critical thinking and problem solving- Critical thinking and problem solving skill is
the most important one which I have learned in my academics. This is because in the
academics and while studying it is important to have some critical thinking skill so that if
any of the issue arises then it can be sought out easily(Zhang and Xuan, 2019). In the
academics there are certain situation which will be faced by me so developing such type
of thing will be helpful to me in the end.
CONCLUSION
From the above report it can be concluded that it is important to develop some skills while in the
academic year because that help a student to be prepared for their future. In the future, it doesn't
matter that which career option they will be choosing but it is important to develop skills which
will be helpful for them ion their career success.
