INTRODUCTION
Child labour refer to child driven into work for various reason or its is derived from its
childhood by exploiting to work at hazardous place. There are various reasons that cause child
labour such as poverty and high unemployment, limited free education and violation of existing
law and code of conduct. Many of the children are forced to go work at early stage as they have
less financial income thus it lead them depriving from education. This report has covered essay
on child labour is better than living in poverty. Moreover, it has include issue related to child
labour and poverty, its consequences and who are responsible for promoting child labour in
supply chain.
MAIN BODY
Child labour is defined as forcing child to work at places that can physical and mental
harm to growth and development of child. It causes exploitation of child or forcing them to work
in poor condition that is harmful for their health as well as well being. Child labour results in
depriving student from their right to go to school which further lead in intergenerational of cycle
of poverty. So it can be stated that child labour acts as barrier in providing education to student
thus it threat to national economies. Moreover, it cause short and long term consequence to
children like physical and mental health issue for children (Fatima, 2021). Therefore, child
labour lead challenge in growth and development of child by depriving it from education.
From the research it has been identified that poverty is major cause of child labouring
that deprives children from acquiring human skills and children to go to school. Thus poor
children earn low wages in the adulthood and grow as unskilled workers thereby poverty
persistence. Thereby parents are forcing to send their children to work and forcing them to stay
in poverty for longer time frame. Likewise the Trafficked children are force into marriage or
illegally adopted, at the same time provide cheap wages or unpaid labour to children. They
expose children from sexual abuse. Violence and many more which results in negative impact on
mental and physical health of children. Despite of several laws pertaining to the child labour the
issue is increasing because they have not been effective implemented which results in low
economic growth (Pattanaik, 2020). Therefore it is one of the major issue that countries are
facing in recent scenario thereby leading negative impact on mental and physical health of
children.
