Introduction
Business management refers to coordination and
organisation of business activities into positive manner
for achieving organisational objectives and goals as
well. Management is basically refers to controlling and
directing the group of people to reach to a certain goal
within a set period of time. In the professional and
personal life, there are certain skills which needs to be
developed to grow in terms of their career.

Key challenges business students may face
There are certain challenges which business students face during
the time period of learning and it is defined into following manner:
 Academic writing: They have to face problems related to
plagiarism and research part while writing at academic level.
For writing a good content, it is necessary that students have to
do research into appropriate manner in order to deliver an
appropriate content.

Skills required at work
There are certain skills which are required at professional level in
order to meet out the deadlines and it is explained into following
manner:
 Problem solving: For showing the range of competencies at
professional level business students should have problem solving
skills.

 Leadership: This skill will help in terms of leading the team
into positive manner at professional level. Leadership is
important because as it brings out best capabilities and
abilities in their team members.
 Communication skills: This skill plays a very important role
in professional life because to execute the task into

receives correct information then it is easier to achieve goals
within a set period of time.

Similarities between prioritising work and meeting
deadlines: Both these skills have common factor that
they are based on time. For meeting out deadlines
and prioritising work both require proper planning
and strategy for executing task into effective manner.
Under both these heads, they have to use correct
approach in order to execute task into effective
manner.

Professional Skills: In this business world, professional skills are important
because these skills determine success and failure as an employee. These skills
contribute in terms of the way people cooperate with each other, handles the
workload and act in the office environment.

Differences between communication and learning skills: Learning skills can be developed within a
set period of time and communication skills development is a long term process and also it takes
longer period of time as compared to communication skills(Grant., 2018). Learning skills can be
developed by assuming things and also based on imagination. Communication skills can be done
without imagination parameter and it can be done at any place.
Importance of communication and learning skills: At professional level it is necessary to have good
communication skills so that an employee can easily work within a team and can also interact in
positive manner with other senior staff as well.

Performing personal SWOT analysis and
action plan to develop lacking skill.
Personal SWOT analysis is crucial as it
provides assistance in understanding oneself
and is an vital step towards determine life
and career direction. Given below is my
personal SWOT analysis:
Strengths:I have effective communications
skills that assist me in expressing my
opinions and ideas to other clearly.

Weaknesses:I lack of proper management of time in order to complete task in one
of my major weakness.
 I can get stressed when I am under pressure for large amount of work-load
which reduces my performance.
 I lack motivation when I encounter multiple tasks in a shirt-period of time.

Threats: The increases in competition is high which will require for me to have
valuable skills and abilities to gain advantage.
 High level of stress an cause imbalance in my personal and professional life.
 Increased procrastination can be developed if I get demotivated by
incompletion of tasks.

 Short-term:
In order to develop my time management skill it is vital for to start
with the basic and focuses on small task to develop time management skills in
an appropriate manner. I need to pay emphasis on promising task which will
allow me to determine which tasks are achievable by my current skill set.
 Medium-term:
It is crucial for me to start focusing on time restricted task in order to
further enhance the development of my time management skills(Todd. ed.,
2020). I will create a to-do list which will assist in decreasing my levels of
procrastination and help to stay motived as I can track my progress.

Conclusion
The above report concludes that professional and academic skills development
plays a very important role at organisational level. There are some challenges
while learning academic skills which includes meeting deadlines, prioritising
work etc. At professional level there are certain skills which are necessary for
growth of an employee and organisation as well. It has been concluded that there
are some similarities and differences between professional and academic skills.
