INTRODUCTION
Business management is the major and important responsibility from which an individual
can be able to enhance the growth of the particular business occupation and can lead them at a
higher place. For handling or managing the business an individual needs different and various
kinds of skills which plays an important role. Skills or ability is the thing which helps the human
creature to exhibit their knowledge in the working process and can be able to obtain higher
success in the market field (Uribe, Ortiz-Marcos and et.al., 2018). Thus, this report, will illustrate
the importance of skills in the business management area and also will perform an action plan
which help the individual to understand it in better manner. For understating this concept in
detailed way this report will execute in the reflective journal which will put the better impact on
the understanding of the human creature.

Importance of academic and professional skills
Today, in this rapid growing world an individual want to grow itself and also wants to
build their career in the effective manner. According to this, skills are the important part which
helps the human to develop itself in their career perspective. I believe that academic and
professional skills both are the major part for the development of the career in the business and
management field. As, I want to build my career in the business management filed and for that I
am required to learn a business management skill which will help me in the future existence.
Regard to this context, I want to share my experience where I was able to learn and adopt the
academic skills which will help me in the future or career pathway. In the past, when I was
attending my academic session once my tutor told the entire class to make a project from which
we will be able to enhance our knowledge and skills.
Looking at me, I was very good at my communication skills which is a good point and
ability in me which helps me to communicate well with my mates and be able to understand the
things and can ask for my doubts clearly (AKHMETSHIN, BRAGER, and et.al., 2018). My tutor
also told us to make a project in a team working so that an individual will also be able to
understand the importance of the team working which will support us in the future career. While,
working in a team my mates face issue regarding the project making and I helped him so nicely
as I believe that I am good at problem solving which helps all of us to resolve any problem in

easy way. Working as team I was able to understand the grouping importance. During the
project, I face some issues in numerical concept and I realized that I am very weak at my
numerical and finance management. Finance management is also an important part for me to
build my career in business management.
My mates help me to enhance my finance and numerical concept from which I am able to
learn and adopt this skill in the effective manner. My tutor has told us that one of the group
member has to lead and monitor the entire team so that the person will be able to acknowledge
their leadership skill. In my group I was also a group leader who has a responsibility to manage
the entire team and their working process. The leadership and management skill is a very
responsible work to handle and exhibit in the effective manner. While conducting and
monitoring the team I realised that leadership skill is the most important part for grow the career
in the business management filed.
I realized that I have to focus on my leadership skill as I was not quite able to handle the
entire team effectively but with the help and support of my mates I was able to complete my
project on time and also understand the importance of team working (Hung, Ching, and et.al.,
2019). I believe that my tutor has given an opportunity to an individual student to learn and
enhance their knowledge which will be very beneficial for us in the future existence and even at
career plan. According to this, here I want to make a personal development plan which will help
me to understand my strengths and weakness and support me to enhance my skills in the accurate
manner.
Personal Development Plan
Strength: Looking at my strength, I believe that I am quite good communication skill which
helps me in my academic sessions and also will help me in the future career. For developing in
the field of business management the communication skills play an important role in the
development. Communication is the first source which helps the human creature to understand
any particular concept. Even at the professional level, the communication will help me to talk
with my colleagues and employee from where I can be able to manage the business and
occupation in the fruitful manner. Along with this, I also believe that I am good at the problem
solving skills which is also a good and advantageous part for me to grow personally and
professionally as well (Jagadheeswari, Priya and et.al., 2019). The problem solving skill help me

to resolve any issue at the workplace by proper understanding and able to solve the problem in
the effective manner which helps me to become a good reputed manner of the organization.
Weakness: I believe that I am very weak at my numerical skills which is a huddle for me in the
future career. Numerical skills can help me to solve any equation, budgeting and even managing
the expanses in the regular basis which help me to measure the organization cash flow
management and economy. For being a business manager it is the important skill to have as
financial sector plays a wider role in any kind of business. I need to enhance my numerical skills
so that I can also be able to measure the expenses and other financial tings in the accurate
manner which will be very beneficial for me in the future existence (Pasanen, 2019).
Opportunity: In academic session, my tutor gives me an opportunity to grow myself in the
definite order where I had come to learn about many different skills which will help me in the
career plan. Regard to this, the numerical skill and communication skill can provide me an
opportunity to become at good leader or business manager in the career path. For being a
manager of a business there are different kind of skills and ability required where the
communication, team working and numerical skill are the major part which can provide me a
good opportunity to grow myself in the business management filed. For getting an opportunity I
need to work hard and improve my skills so that I can be able to get the desired position at the
professional level (Kobicheva, 2021).
Threat: Looking at my threat and risk, I always feel that if I will not able to enhance my
weakness or skills it will become a threat for me in my future career. For being a business
manager I am required to adopt different skills including the numerical, leadership skill and I am
quite weak at both of these skills. I am needed to focus on these skills and ability so that I can be
able to enhance them in the effective manner and can be able to grow and develop my career in
the fruitful way.
