The aim of the project is to understand the influence of online schooling on the students which can be seen observed on their academic performance and their wellbeing. LITERATURE REVIEW Student Well-being Well-being can be stated as a Holistic term which involves all aspects of student life which includes physical, mental, emotional and social state of students which they experience in their academic life (Alves, Lopes and Precioso, 2021). In other words, well-being refers to the capacity skill and resources which help them to cope up with their emotions which will help them in positive and constructive development. Student wellbeing is an aspect of student schooling which is related to their ability to learn in class and ability to build a positive relationship among students and teachers. Student wellbeing is a basic key component of school experience and plays a crucial role in academic learning. In other words, student wellbeing is overall development students and their quality of life. The school must focus on student well-being and the key five areas through which student well-being can be nurtured are Leadership Student voice Inclusion Partnership or effective collaboration and Support. The importance of student wellbeing The most important reason to care about the well-being of children is because they are the future. These children have a plethora of imagination, skills, potential and unmatched capabilities. It is extremely noble and sobering to be a part of shaping these young minds, and in a way shaping the future that lies before us all (Cleland and et.al, 2020). This can be performed in an optimum way by creating the best possible environment for the students by creating a nurturing environment suitable for growth. The importance of student well-being is: Increase in productivity of students- If there is a favorable environment for students, they will be more productive and hard working.
Students will feel motivated- Student’s wellbeing ensure a boost in their motivation levels and creativity. Challenges faced in student well-being Some of the wellbeing challenges which are faced by students are listed below: Academic stress Health and lifestyle issues Inability to manage emotions Inability to manage relationships Fight with friends Adjusting to family changes and others Strategies for enhancing student wellbeing Some of the strategies through which student well-being can be enhanced and protected are stated below: Build mental health learning communities Prioritize child safety Prevent bullying school and online Promote online safety Create an environment of belongingness and respect Develop skills for positive mental health. The impact of COVID-19 on student well being Covid-19 has had a huge impact directly and indirectly in the lives of everyone in the world. It is a pandemic that changed world structure in just few months. As expected, students and their lives were not excluded from the changes that Covid brought along. Instead, they were one of the major groups that was affected by the pandemic. One of the major changes that appeared was the conversion of offline mode of schools to online mode. Schools provided particular structure to the students, an environment where they could grow and be productive together. This was majorly disrupted when due to the danger of infection of virus to and among students, decisions were made to close the offline classes and continue the classes online. These changes on such a vast scale have never been done or experienced before (Giuntella and et.al, 2021). The daily life of school going students was gone as they knew it. The school provided a proper routine and structure to the students and that dissolved due to the pandemic. Negative impact on COVID-19 on student’s well-being

There are many negative impacts of Covid-19 on student well-being, which are like: Changed routine- School provided students a particular time table to stick to. When to get up, when to have breakfast, to reach school, a certain time for different activities. This structure helped in managing their lives and creating a balance between school and home or play time. Due to Covid this ceased as the schools closed and the balance was disrupted (Martinez and Nguyen, 2020). Less social interactions- Due to Offline classes the time that students have in between classes or during to interact and even after school interaction got affected. The danger of infection leads to people living inside, quarantined in their own houses and this led to a life of isolation. Especially for students who had a daily social life, which suddenly stopped completely. The social interactions are not limited to just among students but also proper communication among teachers was a major part of the well being of students. This student- teacher communication was not so easy as to move to the front of the class or ask guidance after class face to face. Online classes are not proving to be the same as offline ones and major difficulties are being faced by the students taking them. Limited extracurricular activities- Not only were the schools closed but the increase in cases which brought with them increase in danger lead to isolated and quarantined lifestyles. All the after-school projects and extracurricular activities such as clubs or games, music, sports, school plays or even just hanging out within your friend group couldn’t take place. Difficulty in studies- as much as we want to say that online classes can be beneficial. It is not without demerits. The online classes can not be compared to offline classes as they vastly differ in surroundings and teaching styles too. Some teachers as well as most of the students find it very difficult to keep up with this new method of teaching. It can be very difficult for students to comprehend what’s being taught. There is also the issue of network problems that may arise mid class. The online teaching method is not as interactive as offline classes and this can lead to not interested students and thus a decline in their grades (Van de Velde and et.al, 2021). Deteriorating health- Health took a major impact not only physically but especially mentally for everyone. Students faced new situations and had no idea about what to do. This not knowing caused a great deal of stress, tension and anxieties in students. All this resulting in deterioration in their mental health with no way to know when the end of the tunnel will arrive. CONCLUSION From above project report, it can be concluded that student wellbeing is an important factor through which the academic performance of students can be enhanced. Student wellbeing is an important factor for students to perform effectively in their academics and it also helps in maintaining a positive and healthy environment through which students can participate willing and their constructive and productive development can be done. From the report, it can be concluded that COVID-19 have created an immense and negative impact on the wellbeing of students and have affected their emotional, mental and physical health and their lifestyle. There are many students who did not have facilities to attend online classes which also created a financial burden on parents. Due to the global pandemic, it can be observed that students have
faced many issues in understanding and gaining valuable knowledge as no practical knowledge was gained which affected their overall performance and productivity.
