TASK ONE
Personality Development refers to those activities which are meant for developing skills,
knowledge, abilities, potentiality and efforts towards the improvement in the quality of life. It is
lifelong process and can’t be achieved in one go which involves setting up of objective from time
to time along with ensuring that the same should be achieved within the set time period (Baumert
and et. al., 2017). Personality development is concerned about five major areas of development
in an individual that is, physical, mental, emotional, social and spiritual.
Professional development refers to the process of student learning in order to develop knowledge
and skills, so that the same can be applied in the career to get more development opportunities.
Professional development is helpful in setting up excellent future where needs can be satisfied in
a desired manner. The concept stresses on how individual learning can be utilized for earning
more by having better professional career (Roberts and Nickel, 2021). Professional development
can be ensured through obtaining quality training to learn skills needed by professionals,
obtaining professional degree education, so that there could be wider scope of career
opportunities.
Explanation of short term goals and their examples
Plans, objectives and goals that are needed to be achieved in a very near future are known short
term goals. The maximum time available could be one year for the attainment of these goals. It
allows for focusing on one specific thing at a time in achieving success (MacCosham and
Gravelle, 2017). The value of such goals is that it provides higher level of motivation towards
achievement of goals along with helping in getting closer with both medium and long term goals.
It is the short term goals that the attainment of which leads to the attainment of long term goals
through a series of short term goals.
Examples of short term goals
Reading management books every week to enhance managerial knowledge.
Obtaining problem solving certification degree within the duration of next six months to
add value to the management degree course.
Switch from the current job to change the current position to reach at higher level within
a year.
