INTRODUCTION
Self confidence helps students in handling setbacks with ease. It allows students in getting up
quickly and to learn from those mistakes. It is imperative for students to develop self confidence
so as to grab opportunities. Confidence is considered as an important factor in educational
success. Many students are facing bullying and harassment but confidence helps in overcoming.
There are various skills which helps students in improving performance and productivity. Along
with self confidence, presentation skills facilitates in effective communicating. By conveying
message accurately, an individual can minimise miscommunication. This project essay is based
on academic skills and studying with self confidence. It will cover importance of self confidence
and academics skills which positively impact on student's life. In addition to that, it will cover
various portfolio elements such as note taking and reliable and non reliable sources.
TASK
Academic skills facilitates in increasing confidence, self esteem and competence. Student's life is
full of anxiety and depression and various other factors which affects their lifestyle, sleeping
order and behaviour. It plays crucial role in student's life. As I was lacking in various skills
earlier and do not have confidence to speak in group discussion. It may be due to shyness or
because of not having courage to speak. I thought people will laugh at me if I suggest or give
some idea and because of this, it also affects my presentation skills. In my academic, whenever I
was provided with project which I have to present infront of class, I got nervous due to lack of
confidence. I have analysed that this fear was hampering my performance so I decided to
overcome fro this fear by taking help of my peers. By conducting a group session, I was allowed
to speak on pre given topic and my peers observed me and rectified me in some areas in which I
was lacking. The first mistake I was doing is not maintaining eye contact with audience which is
crucial. In addition to that, I have observed that my body language and gestures are not correct
which I have to focus on. I have practised for almost two weeks and can feel changes in my
behaviour, body language and in presentation skills. After two weeks, when I have to deliver
presentation infront of class, this time I was not anxious because of developed confidence level. I
have presented in a well manner with balance in vocal tone along with maintaining eye contact in
order to engage audience which facilitates in two way communication. Upon completion of
presentation, my teachers applauded me for hard efforts. At that moment, I was happy that I have

gained confidence with help of my friends who pushes me towards development of self
confidence. In the initials stage, I was facing difficulty but I have planned element so
presentation and prepare in a well manner. I have collected all essential which makes
presentation successful. After preparing, I have done practice infront of my peers so as to get
feedback by which I can rectify my mistakes. I have delivered my performance and upon
successful I was applauded by my friends and teachers for my hard work. In this lecture, I have
come to know about importance of note taking and how it can be used for further development.
Alomng with that I have collected data from reliable source as by taking from non-reliable, it can
misguide or insights cannot be created correctly.
As I want to become a mange in my professional career and it is important top have
confidence which reflects my attitude and interest towards work. It is important to have relevant
skills so that I can be an effective manager in my career. Planning and managing of time is
imperative as it facilitates in managing time with other activities. Student's life is hectic and
sometimes they feel frustrated due to unable to mange time with academics. This skill not only
important in academic life but in professional life too. In addition to that, by improving
communication skill, I have gained self confidence as I can effectively communicate with
anyone. This reflects my hard work and by gaining this skill, I have successfully deliver my
presentation. Communication skill will help in my professional career as I can convey message
effectively to my team members. I have also get feedback from my teachers and they have
guided me in a polite manner and rather than taking those comments negative, I have started
working on in order to enhance skill. I have also acquire problem solving skill which skill I can
use in my academics and in my professional career. In order to enhance this skill, I have taken
help from internet by reading case studies and their issues. This helped me in improving this
skill. Along with that, I have resolve various issues of my peers too which makes me more
confident. I have worked on various skills such as critical thinking skill, confidence building and
listening skills. All these skills will be beneficial in my professional career. With combination of
all these skills, I can confidentially communicate with my team mates. Earlier, I was not aware
about familiar but my teachers guided me in avoiding plagiarism. This I have applied by taking
down notes and the formulation of sentences in my own language. By this, I have successfully
avoided plagiarism inn my work.

CONCLUSION
From the above project report, it was concluded that confidence plays crucial role in
development of student's life. In case of lack in confidence level, it becomes difficult to grab
opportunities. So it is needed to take corrective steps in order to improve self confidence and
promote change in future development. Along with self confidence, there are various skills
which are needed to be aligned with. As critical thinking helps in solving various issues by
identifying root cause and to opt better alternative for solving issue. Confidence can be build up
by undertaking regular practice and taking feedback for rectification and improvement. I have
avoided plagiarism by taking down notes and note taking is one of the important element in this
work. Having more plagiarism can diminish effect of work and it shows copy material. I have
faced issue that I have encounter with plagiarism and teacher have guided me in overcoming this
issue. Note taking helps me in further development as it allows in revision of lectures. By
improving listening skills, students can able to communicate and response effectively as it
minimise risk of misunderstanding. Formulation of schedule can help students in managing task
with other activities which leads in increased productivity.
