INTRODUCTION Personal development includes the activities through which an individual can develop their skills, capabilities, competencies and quality of life in order to achieve the career goals and objectiveswhereasprofessionaldevelopmentincludestheskillandknowledgewhichis improved by professionals to enhance their career(Anders, 2018). The report is based on skills and PDP Plan in which the role of personal development planning is discussed. Personal development plan is also constructed in order to outline the aims and objectives for professional development. The project also covers the short terms, medium term and long term goals of person. TASK 1 Personal and Professional Development Personal development is a process of focusing and improving the personal capabilities and skills in order to maximise the potential. There are five aspects of personal development they are physical, social, intellectual, emotional and spiritual. The examples of personal development skills are communication, organisation, problem solving, integrity, interpersonal and adaptability (Atlı, and O’Dwyer, 2021). The aims and objectives of personal development is to improve the time management, develop emotional intelligence, develop growth mindset, learning new things andimprovingpublicspeakingskills.Professionaldevelopmentmeansimprovingand developing the skills and knowledge in order to grow and succeed at work. Through professional development the individual can expand their knowledge base and increase their professional expertise.Thefewexamplesofprofessionaldevelopmentskillsareanalyticalthinking, innovation, critical thinking, complex problem solving, technology design and programming. The aims and objectives of professional development are to accomplish the goals within particular time period and also participate in professional Organisation in order to contribute their best in every process of business(Borg, 2018). The main purpose of professional development is to grab the opportunity where an individual can learn and adapt new things through which they can uplift their career and build skills and knowledge according to the field. Short term goals Short term goals means when an individual has to achieve the target in near future which includes week, month and particular year. The Short term goals are of less period of time which
a person has to accomplish soon or within 12 months. Through short term goals I prefer to improve my personal skills as well as professional skills which help in achieving the goals(Day and Hadfield, 2020). The Short term goals which I have to achieve are: ď‚·To increase my productivity level ď‚·To explore something new ď‚·To enhance communication skills These are the goals which I have to accomplish in order to develop my personal and professional career. Medium term goals It is the goals which take longer time in order to accomplish the particular goals. The objectives and goals can be achieved within weeks, months, years or perhaps 5, 15 or 20 years. The individual can achieve its goals and objectives in months or years as it is a longer process (Felstead and Springett, 2016). The medium term goals help in improving the professional development and also help in getting succeed in professional career. The medium term goals on which I have to focus are: ď‚·To Work in Dream Company ď‚·To enhance my work experience in Business Management Field ď‚·To develop leadership skill Long term goals Long term goals are the aims which must be completed in Future, for accomplishing the long term goals an individual must require proper planning and time through which they can achieve the future goals(Osman and Warner, 2020). It took several years and plenty of time to achieve the particular goals.
