Task One: Explain professional and personal development Professional development is a way that helps the people to assess their own skills and capabilities. They are able to know about their areas of weakness and then take actions to develop them (Rose and Et. Al., 2020). This helps the individual to show their own potential and attain the career goals and objectives. The development of the individual takes place by setting SMART goals that help them to enhance the particular skills for the personal and professional success. It becomes necessary to be clear about career objective and then working in same direction is helpful for the students. What is the value of short term goals and give examples Short term goals are the one that an individual want to achieve in near future. The students must work on their show term goals in order to achieve the long term goals effectively. Short term goal provide support to the students and motivate them to work harder. After achieving these goals students feel confidence and they are able to work positively in future(Rasheed and Et. Al., 2020). They lead to continuous development of the students and they are able to achieve success. There is need of taking suitable actions that helps the individuals to attain shorts term goals. The short term goals are for around 6 months to 2 years. My short term goals are as follows: To develop my communication skills To enhance my team working skills To develop networks Discuss the concept of medium term goals and provide examples Medium term goals are for 2 to 5 years and also help to achieve the long term goals. Each and every person has aim in their life, these medium term goals help the students to attain the same. It becomes easy to monitor the progress in case of medium term goal as there is sufficient time to enhance the skills and check the progress(Traverso, Viterbori and Usai, 2019). There is need of dedication and hard work that helps to achieve success. There is need 2
of being continuous and regular so that there is change in the level of working among the students. My medium term goal are as follows: To become team leader and manage the working of teams To complete my post-graduation To develop time management skills Explain the concept of long term goals and provide 3 personal examples Long term goals are the final outcomes that the individual wants in their life. It is necessary for the individuals to have appropriate long term goal as their career is dependent on the same. Long term goals are for long than 5 years. It takes so much hard work and dedication to achieve the same. There is need of setting the short term and medium term goals according to long term goals(Rea‐Sandin and Et. Al., 2021). These must be set as per the area of interest so that there is no problem being faced by the students. There is key role of monitoring the performance in between so that there is achievement of goals and objectives effectively. My long term goals are as follows: To get a job in reputed company To learn a foreign language To buy own house Description and discussion of the value of a Personal Development Plan and construction of an example using my goals Personal development plan is a document that includes the skills and actions to develop them. The person must know about own areas of improvement and then state the ways of improving them(Muratori and Et. Al., 2019). It is important to work on the skills as they help them to grab the opportunity and achieve successful position.
