INTRODUCTION
Leadership and management both are similar terms and it is important to consider
leadership which is the important part of the effective management. For this, managers are
considered as the effective member of company who is responsible to carry out the prominent
functions such as planning, organising, controlling and direction. Moreover, leaders are the
individuals who tends to follow the overall personality, beliefs and behaviour as they
prominently invest and provide suitable guidance to employees regarding the interest for
effective success in terms of employee satisfaction (Podsakoff and Podsakoff, 2019). To carry
forward this report, Next PLC is considered which is a British multinational clothing store that
also deals in footwear and home as well. It also has around 700 stores in UK as it is the largest
clothing retailer by sales in UK. For this, report tends to identify the leadership and management
theories in diverse environment and apply various motivational theories to work in a team by
effective management styles. Along with this, it also tends to contribute for the organisational
effectiveness considering the ethics and values and depict the impact on the vision and mission
of company. Lastly, it leads to evaluate change considering effective tools and models.
MAIN BODY

There are various appropriate theories in terms of managing diverse workforce
considering the reaction of individuals which is quite different from others. In relation with this,
competing for the effective viewpoint depict the effective attempt that leads to depict that how
diversity is beneficial in terms of getting organisational outcome. For this, the leaders and
managers of company tends to retain and recruit unique and creative employees in terms of
achieving competitive advantage (Thomas, 2020). In relation with this, various theories which
can be opted by the leaders and managers of Next PLC is mentioned as:
Cognitive diversity theory: Effective research depicts that diversity has no relationship in
relation with effective group performance that negatively depict the diversity as the poor group
performance as less diversity depict the effective group performance. Along with this, effective
finding is helpful as diversity tends to impact group members for negative performance. For this,
the leaders and managers of Next PLC tends to consider cognitive theory which is useful in
managing diverse employees by involving them in organisational activities by developing
