INTRODUCTION
Academic writing is a style of writing used in colleges, schools and universities.
Descriptive academic writing main purpose is to provide information for example a conclusion
of a report or summary. There are various types of academic writing styles such as essay,
research, book review and others. The present report will provide detailed information about
features of academic writing and its importance. Further, the study will provide importance of
academic writing skills in professionalism and analytical thinking.
Academic writing
The main purpose of academic writing is to provide research and explain some idea and
to persuade readers about explanation. While performing this activity an individual needs to
describe about place and activity. It is a formal writing style which provide clear, structured and
focussed research finding. Academic writing does not require the use of difficult sentences and
complicated vocabulary (Yu and Liu, 2021). By using writing skills like using active voice,
sentence structure, punctuation and expanding vocabulary one can make it simple. According to
some experts it is the most important skill in academic contexts and it is main strategies of

Academic writing can be divided into two types student and expert academic writing.
