the workplace means that the human resource of an organization includes individuals of diverse ages,
cultures, gender, languages, race and ethnicity (Patrick, 2012). The discussion focuses on the company
named, as ‘Accenture INC.’ The key purpose of the report is to pour light on the aspect of diversity in the
Canadian workplace. It provides an opportunity to upgrade the knowledge based on the given title.

‘Accenture Inc.’ is a Canadian company based in Toronto. It is a management-consulting firm
with an employee strength of 4684. It was included in the magazine published by ‘Globe and Mail and

Meaning: Job benefits are the financial and non-financial incentives provided by the business
organization to its workforce (Hülsheger, 2013).
Policies: It has developed a policy named ‘Employee Health & Wellness Plans’ (Accenture ,
2019). As per the research, it is found that through its policies, Accenture INC. provides multiple aids to
its employees. These are listed below:
In health and safety policies, it provides Sick leave, insurance and free transport (cab facility)
For financial assistance, it offers paid leaves, bonuses based on performance.
In parenting policies, it provides Maternity and paternity leaves, flexible working hours and
Works from home (Accenture, 2019).
Priority: Delivering job befits is a priority for Accenture LTD. because it will help in developing
a healthy work atmosphere. Additionally, it will assist in raising more motivated and satisfied employees.
It is of high significance, as it will help in gaining better outcomes from the workforce (Shook & Sweet,
2019).
Improvement: Delivering uniform job benefits to its entire workforce is a priority for Accenture
INC. Accenture INC. Thus, it has improved the diversity issues by providing benefits to all its employees
without any biases (Accenture , 2019).
Harassment policies
Meaning: It is a policy stating that harassment will not be allowed at the workplace and strict
action will be taken against it (Pate, 2010).
Policy: Accenture INC. has laid prior attention to eradicate harassment issues. It has developed
‘Zero Tolerance’ for disrespectful and harassment behavior in its code of conduct (Accenture , 2019). It

has provided free liberty to its workforce to share any form of unethical, unfortunate, and dishonest
behavior. It offers ‘Accenture Business Ethics Helplines’ to its employees as they can freely share their
issues. As per the employee review, it has strict policy for sexual harassment (Accenture , 2019).
Priority: It is one of the priorities for the company to develop harassment policies. It will help in
developing a working environment free of offensive and hostility. Additionally, it will help in meeting its
objective of gender equality in its workforce by the year 2015. However, if it becomes thoughtless in
developing such policies, it fails to meet its objective. This is because; it will not be able to retain female
employees in its business organization (Accenture , 2019).
Improvement: It not only acknowledges the employee's concern based on harassment but also
take possible actions and raise such issue through media channels to avoid such happening in future in its
organization. Through these practices, it has improved the harassment issue in its workplace (Accenture ,
2019).
Disability Rights
Meaning: It is developed for individuals facing mental and physical disability in performing their
daily activities. The key aim of developing such rights is to eradicate discrimination and provide them
with assistance (Shakespeare, 2013).
Policies: Besides Google and Microsoft, Accenture also values employees with disabilities
(Gaudiano, 2019). It has developed policies named as Persons with Disabilities (PwD) and Employee
Resource Group. Additionally, it has developed ‘Mental health Allies program’. In the year 2015, it has
developed a policy named ‘Disability Standard’. It is also planning to develop policies to assist its
employees with non-visible disabilities (Carter, 2015).
Priority: Accenture gives prior attention to equality in the workplace. Thus, it prioritizes the
development of disability rights for needy individuals (Shook & Sweet, 2019).

Improvement: Its partnership with the ‘Business Disability Forum’ has assisted the Accenture in
improving its practices for supporting disable employees in the workroom (Carter, 2015). It was selected
by ‘ABA Commission on Disability Rights’ as a champion for ‘Disability Inclusion’. It has chosen
Accenture as it has delivered a barrier-free work environment to disable employees (ABA , 2018).
