3d. What food do you recommend for healthy puppies and kittens? (5 marks)
Dog food is basically divided into dry kibble, moist and semi moist. Among the three the best
suitable food for the puppies is the dry kibble as it contains the maximum amount of meat
protein. Dry kibble is cost effective, helps the puppy to easily digest the food and keeps its
teeth clean. While moist food is not cost effective, it perishes quickly and has less nutrient
content.
The canned food is the best for the kitten. As the kittens have very small teeth, they cannot
chew dry food comfortably. The canned foods are superior to the normal dry food as it
provides the necessary nutrients for the cats. Hence, feeding canned food twice a day to
kittens is sufficient.
