Executive Summary
The aim of this report will be to analyse the external environment of the aged care sector of the
region of Australia. Theories and framework will be used accordingly in the context of analysis
of the external environment of this sector. The competitive information of this sector will also be
discussed in this report along with a competitor analysis. The internal environment of the
selected organization will; also be analysed in this paper in the context of resources, capabilities
and core competencies. The selected organization is Regis Healthcare, which is based in
Australia and is listed on the Australian Securities Exchange. The facilities which are provided
by this organization are retirement facilities and home care, where the aged people can live
happily and safely and can enjoy their hobbies and livelihood through following the mission and
vision of this aged care service provider organisation. Australia has been selected as this industry
is one of the growing business sector in this region.

Introduction
The purpose of this report will be to analyse the external environment of the aged care
sector of the region of Australia. Theories and framework will be used accordingly in the context
of analysis of the external environment of this sector. The competitive information of this sector
will also be discussed in this report along with a competitor analysis. The internal environment
of the selected organization will; also be analysed in this paper in the context of resources,
capabilities and core competencies. The selected organization is Regis Healthcare, which is
based in Australia and is listed on the Australian Securities Exchange. The facilities which are
provided by this organization are retirement facilities and home care, where the aged people can
live happily and safely and can enjoy their hobbies and livelihood through following the mission
and vision of this aged care service provider organisation. Australia has been selected as this
industry is one of the growing business sector in this region.
External Environment of the Industry
The aged care sector can be regarded as one of the large but complex. This sector is also
treated as one of the largest service sectors in the region of Australia, where more than 350,000
employees are employed to deliver top class services which is very important in this business
industry. Almost 2,000 organizations are present in Australia to provide different kinds of
services, and the number of aged people who are benefitted from this service are more than
100,000 (regis.com.au 2020). Rules and regulations need to be followed by the management of
organization, as it can be noted in this context that this service sector plays an integral role in the
society of Australia through the wide array of services to the aged people of Australia (Chadwick
et al., 2016). Safety of those aged people need to be secured along with maintaining the level of

services by the aged care service provider organizations. Technological advancement also help to
maintain the level of services that are provided by these 2,000 service provided organizations.
Three different types of aged care services are provided by the organizations like Regis
Healthcare, which are Home and Community Care (HACC), Home Care and Residential Care.
Home and Community Care (HACC) helps to provide entry level basic support for older people
who need assistance to live independently, whereas Home Care includes four levels of care
provided to older people living at home, ranging from basic to high-care needs. Residential Care
provides accommodation and support for those who choose to live within residential aged care
facilities. Legal policies are also need to be followed by the organizations, so that it will help to
avoid any kind of legal actions against the companies which are involved in providing different
aged care services (Lewin, Alfonso & Alan, 2013).
Competitive Environment and Competitor Analysis
Competitive Environment
The main competitors or the rival institutions of Regis Aged Care are Benetas, ECH Inc.,
The Whiddon Group, Blue Care, Accurate Home Care LLC, Anglican Care, Resthaven
Incorporated, Presbyterian Church and many more. All these business entities are either from
Australia or have branches in this region. Some of the companies like Regis Healthcare have
more than 1 branches within Australia and the management are also planning to open 3 more
branches in Victoria, New South Wales and Western Australia. It can be said in this context that
the demand for organizations like Regis Healthcare are increasing daily basis, mainly due to the
increase in the number of senior or aged people in the region of Australia. As these numbers will
increase in future, the competitive environment related to the organizations involved in providing

aged care services will also increase, and this competition will benefit and boost up the economic
condition of Australia.
Competitor Analysis
It has been already discussed that the market of aged care in the region of Australia is
very competitive and there are more than 2,000 odd organizations apart from Regis Healthcare.
All the organizations differ from each other in terms of servicers that are provided by these
business entities. Earning of revenue also differs and totally depends on the quality and amount
of service that is provided by these business entities. Thus, it can be said that all these
organizations are fighting against each other to avail top class service and providing safe and
security to the aged people of Australia (Baldwin et al., 2015).
Internal Environment of Regis
In this context, it can be said that Regis Healthcare is one of the popular aged care service
provider organization in the region of Australia. The financial resources of the firm can be
amounted to $647.1m, which is 9% higher than that of the amount which was at the financial
year of 2018. The net RAD was $142.9m in terms of the cash flow generated from the overall
services that are provided by the management of this organization. The revenue that was
generated by this organization in the financial year of 2019 shows that the management of this
organization is capable enough to provide superior service to the aged or senior people of
Australia (Taylo & Donoghue, 2015).
Conclusion
From the above discussion, it can be stated that Regis Healthcare possess all the
capabilities to become one of the most successful organizations in the region of Australia. The

management enjoys a good leadership within the services that are provided by the management,
which are Home and Community Care (HACC), Home Care and Residential Care. Though the
