As a true friend I would definitely confront my friends and correct them about their wrong
intentions. If they are truly my friends they will accept that they are wrong and do the right thing which
is doing an honest work. I would also advise them on the importance of doing their own work. I would
actually slap them with a good word of advice as follows. Getting good grades and finally good grades
seems like all that is in question whenever a student faces an examination. Unfortunately, that is not the
case and many students who used the wrong means such as Ghostwriters to acquire their grades end up
regretting when they finally land on the jobs. There is nothing more frustrating than going to an
organization with stunning grades only to realize there is nothing you can deliver in your particular
profession.
If after all this friendly advice they still choose to ignore my words and continue seeking for
Ghostwriter, only then will I approach my lecturer or any person who can help in this situation and seek
to help my friends from an higher authority. As human as I am I would not want any student to score
better grades than me when I know it is not their effort. Therefore for both the interests of helping them
as friends and personal reasons of not seeing someone who did not work scoring better grades than me, I
would report them to the lecturer.
The one element that I would consider in the ACS code of ethics is professionalism. This is
because I respect and appraise my profession. It id upon me to take action against anyone breaching the
ACS code of ethics which defines my profession. All the corporate actions in the society are subject to
this code of ethics. It is therefore my duty to ensure that the ACS code of ethics is respected by all its
officers. Burmeister (2013) says the mere case of influencing another person to go against the ACS code
of ethics is also a breach of the code per se. For every person who belongs to the ACS should do
everything possible to keep the good image and the good name of the ACS. I am indeed proud to be part
of the ASC. Professionalism is key in the Australian Computer Science code of ethics and it also matters
to me that my profession is respected. I would not want a situation where people carry exceptional
certificates in ICT but actually know nothing or very little in ICT
