INTRODUCTION An action plan is a document which helps an individual to identify what steps are necessary for achieving specific life goals. It generally include measures of progress, milestones and a time line for completing a task. In this study, development of skills such as leadership, decision making and communication skills at academic level will be cover. MAIN BODY Development of skills is a crucial factor for the overall development of individuals as it help in analysing skill gaps and development of existing skills for achieving particular goals and objectives (Miller, 2017). As a student I need to develop some of my individual skills for attaining success in academics. Skills that I need to develop are mentioned as follows: Communication To improve communication skill within 6 months in order to enhance branding and marketing practices. For coverage of branding from marketing lectures in my university, I need to develop effective communication skills. An effective communication skill is consider as a key for interpersonal development (Cottrell, 2019). For enhancing my communication skills I need to use simple and easy language in order to engage listeners and draw them into my conversation. Listening skills are also need to be improved for effective communication which will help me to perform better in my academics. For effective communication I would ask for feedbacks with my friends and family so that I can work on my weak areas. Understanding and studying non verbal communication will also help me to develop this particular skill of mine. Leadership and teamwork To enhance Leadership and teamwork skill within 8 months for the effective management of people. Themostimportantelementofanyorganisationarepeople.Thus,forlearning management of people I need to develop my leadership and teamwork skills. For enhancing my leadership skills I need to develop discipline in me as it will help me to inspire my team mates to maintain . I will try to take more responsibility more than my potential and check my ability if I can lead a team or not. As a true leader always have a quality to follow. Thus, I will try to learn 3
from my others and will respect others and help me to learn better skills. Teamwork will help me to share my opinions and contribute in the achievements of teams. It will also enhance my communication skills and will improve my conflict management and problem solving skills. Business analysis and decision making skills To develop Business analysis and decision making skills within 1 year for the effective management of finance and accounting work. For proper finance accounting I need to enhance my business analysis and decision making skills. Development of business analysis skills will help me to identify business needs and help me by providing solutions to major business problems. It will help me to fulfil target objectives of business and will result in overall success of business. Decision making process will help me to take important decision as finance accounting for business is a crucial process where decision making plays a major role. CONCLUSION From the above study, it can be concluded that action plan is important for individual to identify the requirements for completing a task and to develop some necessary skills which are necessary for achieving particular life goals. It is an important element for strategic planning. 4
