ADVANCED NETWORK DESIGN
Project Scope
The main scope of the project is to create a network solution for the IT college and
accommodate the 400 number of users to access the internet and the following elements creating
the scope are as follows:
ï‚· To create a proper IP addressing scheme and configuring the device with the Ip address
scheme and keep some of the IP address in reserve for enabling future expansion of the
network.
ï‚· To connect the LABs in different VLAN such that the network is secured from the external
users and congestion is eliminated for increasing the efficiency of the network.
ï‚· To analyse the area of coverage of the wireless network and identify the number of wireless
access point needed to be installed for the management of the network framework.
ï‚· To analyse the current and the future needs of the college for management of the growth of
the campus and accommodate more number of users in the LABs without changing the
current framework of the network.
ï‚· To identify the industrial standards and specification of the network device that should be
installed in the network for the eliminating different issues for the deployment of the
network framework solution.
ï‚· To use different VLAN for the voice and data such that there is no lag in the voice
communication due to congestion or collision in the network communication channels
ï‚· To use appropriate cables for interconnecting the network devices and configure the devices
following the requirement of the organization.
Detailed Network Diagrams
The following network diagram is created based on the two buildings and the number of LABs and
classrooms in each of the building. For the development of the network Cisco packet tracer 7.2 is
used and the devices are configured to create a prototype of the network and enable the network
administrator to identify the errors and the problems faced during the configuration of the network.
