Introduction:
Quality of life of an older individual is dependent upon the different factors. Poor
monitoring of the factors can lead to further health deterioration of the patient, whereas if the
external parameters are examined appropriately, instead of positive impact, it can pose negative
impact on the quality of life of the older individual, which is discussed in the essay.
Thesis statement: analysis of the external factors and its impact on the quality of life of the older
individual.
Argument 1:
“Quality of life is defined by the World Health Organization as “individuals' perception of their
position in life in the context of the culture and value systems in which they live and in relation
to their goals, expectations, standards, and concerns.”
Rendering to the research conducted by Netuveli and Blane (2008), quality of life of the
elderly population is dependent upon the greying of the population. There are different external
aspects such as, physical, social and economic, which affects the health of the elderly population
negatively (Clark et al., 2016). These influences can be controlled if appropriate care is provided
to the individual at an early stage of life and if done ageing does not possess negative impact on
the health and quality of life of elderly population, Instead, it retains a positive impact on the
health of the patient and reduces the prevalence rate of the chronic physical and mental illness
(Clark et al., 2016). If the adult individuals are educated with the various strategies which can be
used to maintain a healthy life, it will pose positive impact on their future health.
