1. What is the bigger picture for the study?
Foodbank is a non-profit organization which is popularly known to operate through
the charities and volunteers in order to decrease the hunger by providing food for the
individuals and school children in Australia. The company is known to receive donation in
order of food and cash. The volunteers which are involved in Foodbank work to pick, pack
and deliver the food items where needed. Transportation of the foods is a major challenge
which is faced by the company. The transportation of the food is generally done through the
volunteers working in the company. The company mainly deals with various transport
facilities which is used to provide and collect food products from different parts. The
organization should enhance their supply chain management which includes the network of
all the individuals, resources, activities and technologies involved in creating and packaging
of the food items from the supplier to the end users.
The Supply Chain management is the management of the flow of goods and services
which includes all the processes which are used in an organization to transform the raw
materials to end products. The process involves the active streamlining of the business supply
side activities which helps to maximize the customer gain and value and creates a
competitive advantage in the marketplace.
The supply chain management represents the effort of the suppliers in order to
develop and implement the supply chains which are efficient and economically possible. The
supply chain management of a company covers each and everything from the production till
product development to the information systems which are needed to direct the undertakings.

operate in a more sustainable manner. Companies are implementing green ways in order to
survive in the market. Going green and environmental friendly are new ways through which
companies can make their way to the future. Companies are making and delivering their
products in a way which does not impacts the environment also so that it does not deplete the
natural resources, which does not contribute to the changes in the climate also so that it does
not contribute to the social inequalities and injustices and the functioning is done in a right
manner.
2. What is not known about this problem?
Transportation is known to play a very vital role in the Supply chain Management and
my analysis is on the problems where the transportation department of the company is facing
different barriers and issues. I have noticed that the communication network is not well
established in the supply chain between the organization and volunteers so the flow of
information was not delivered. The second issue which is faced by the company is with its
technology. There is always a high chance of mismanagement and accidents which impact
the production and diminishes the quality of the products manufactured by the company.
The problems which are mentioned in the paper creates a very strong impact to the
selected organization Foodbank. The possible solutions and recommendations which can
solve the major issue with the transportation in Supply Chain are provided below.
