Introduction
Airline operations and flight operations are connected in that they both work together towards
ensuring safety during the flight. They should be done efficiently because there is any little
mistake made; it could cause deadly accidents. This paper will discuss air flight operations and
how they are connected to airline operations. It also gives an example of an accident that
happened due to a lack of flight operation preparation and readiness, lesson learned, and how the
accident could have been prevented (Wu, 2016).
Air flight operations
Air flight operations are the activities undertaken to prepare a flight from taking off to landing to
its destination (Bruce, 2016). These activities include coordination of operational and technical
factors that route planning, overflight permits, flight dispatch and landing, the plane's mechanical
condition before the flight, aircraft's fuel and its general performance. Air flight operations are
usually conducted by an airline dispatcher, and the person is responsible for creating a path for
the plan to follow considering factors such as the plane's loadings, airspace restrictions,
turbulence forecast, and thunderstorms. The dispatcher is also responsible for advising the pilot
in case any change occurs (Bazargan, 2016).
Reason why airline flight operation is an integral part of overall airline operations
Flight operations are connected to airline operations in that they all work towards ensuring the
safety of the flight from the time it takes off until it reaches its destination. Airline operations are
those activities that take place in the airport to ensure safety during takeoffs and landings. It
includes ensuring that all the aircraft are airworthy before they are scheduled for a flight (Chen,
