This literature review focuses on two articles that illustrate significant similarities expound on the issue of controlling air pollution emanating from automobiles and the challenges it faces. The article by Cavico and Mujtaba (2016) expounds on Volkswagen’s emission scandal and its consequences. On the other hand, the article by Wu et al. (2011) assesses the various strategies applied by Beijing to regulate pollution from vehicles. Precisely, these articles confirm that the changing attributes of the society such as economic ability and technology are the greatest challenge to agencies dealing with environmental protection.
