INTRODUCTION
The issues have negatively impacted on mental and physical health of people. However, in
order to solve issue government has initiated various program and initiatives. The main
purpose of program is to focus on health issues faced by people and solve it.

BACKGROUND
It has been analysed that UK government has imposed high taxes on alcohol. The main
purpose is to control use of alcohol within teenagers and adults. Apart from it, there are
certain policies as well which is being imposed by government in regard to tackle
problem of alcohol consumption. It is done to ensure that use of alcohol is less. In
report of 2019 it has been found that in US there occurred 88,000 deaths per year due to
consumption of alcohol in adults.

Moreover, there is change in drinking behaviour of people in UK. It is found that in UK
82% of adults drank alcohol within 12 months. In that 49% drink it more than once in
week. Besides, it is found that in UK 29.2 million adults drink alcohol in 2017 and
around 10% drink more than 4-5 days a week.
Also, in 2017 more men of age 45- 64 drank alcohol than women. Furthermore, it is
found that since 2005 teetotalism in teenage of age 16- 24 has increased. However, in
survey done in 2018 it is found that more people like to earn more they drink alcohol.
In that the percentage is almost 90%.
