PART A DISCUSSION ACTIVITY
INITIAL DISCUSSION
At present conditions in business and the need to introduce best and innovative, most of the
projects have to go through with various changes that are different from the original plans.
Change is inevitable but coping up the major challenges requires amendment of modifications
(Heldman, 2013). In the same matter, a poorly managed project and its plan will lead to a
scenario of huge failure to the industry, individual or a team etc. This is another reason which
forces the project managers to announce new changes in most of the running projects. These
changes affect the project schedule and communication of the managers and the stakeholders
accordingly. The fact that, more effective the team and communication more simple and
effective is the work completed in less time (Kheder, 2014).
Goals and objectives – these are the motives or aims that has to be achieved through the
different process in a team with the effective teamwork.
Scope – this defines the area covered under the project for future and how reliable it is for
people.
Work Break Down Structure – this includes the proper description of the processes or tasks
involved in a project in the most suitable and simpler form.
Project Scheduling – it is the way to describe the procedure and priorities in the given project
with the timeline.
Whenever a change has been introduced in the project, a firm change control process might
help the managers and the team members to cope with the changes and again back on the
track.
RESPOND FROM STUDENTS
For understanding this, some examples of the fellow students have been described with their
opinions on the impact of intermediate changes in a project and its effects.

According to the Godfrey Howard regarding the schedule management, any change in the
project lead to supplementary changes in the whole project, its scope, scheduling, completion
time and effectiveness of the team etc. He said that the request to change the scope may be
based on insight gained from project or a new knowledge which changes the overall delivery
and verification time (PMBOK, 2013). At the same time, he also described that the deviations
from the base plan will establish new threats in future. For this, there is a need to complete the
scope statement with managerial pieces of work which should be completed after developing
the list of complete tasks to be done. This list will help in analysing the resource requirement
which will be effective if the communication between the team and the manager is clear
(Pearson, et al. 2014).
Another student; Leire Caballero Fraile, said that if the project manager is able to create an
effective communication than there are fewer chances of problems after the changes have
been made (Kerzner & Kerzner, 2017). In addition to this, the student believes that even
communication is the key to overcome with the changes, it is not essential for the project
manager to communicate this change with all the stakeholders of the company rather changes
should be only passed with the concerned people so that they can know the benefits (Douglas,
2009).
