ANALYSIS OVER DIABETES IN US Introduction In this assignment, the health statistics related to diabetes in US will be analysed. The causes and effect of diabetes will be described. The major social determinants related to diabetes will be analysed. The demographic impact of diabetes will also be highlighted. The methods of handling the diabetes and its prognosis will also be described. The future aspect of this health problem will also be discussed. Current position of diabetes in US According to a statistics of 2018, the data related to diabetes are as follows: Approximate 10.5% people (34.2 million) are suffering from diabetes(Government, National Diabetes Statistics Report 2020 Estimates of Diabetes and Its Burden in the United States, 2020). Total 210,000 children and adults of US who are below the age of 20 years diagnosed with diabetes. It is approximate 25 per 10,000 US youths diagnosed with diabetes (Government, National Diabetes Statistics Report 2020 Estimates of Diabetes and Its Burden in the United States, 2020). Total 1.4 million adults who are aged above twenty years diagnosed with type 1 diabetes that is 5.2% of US adults(Government, National Diabetes Statistics Report 2020 Estimates of Diabetes and Its Burden in the United States, 2020). The statistics of diabetes in Hispanic and Non-Hispanic population are as follows: Hispanic population diabetes percentage: 9.7 per 1000 persons. Non-Hispanic population diabetes percentage: 8.2 per 1000 persons(Government, National Diabetes Statistics Report 2020 Estimates of Diabetes and Its Burden in the United States, 2020). Among total diabetic persons, 36.6% are males and 29.3% are females(Government, New CDC report: More than 100 million Americans have diabetes or prediabetes, 2017).
ANALYSIS OVER DIABETES IN US Diabetes is the seventh leading cause of death in US. That is why the position of diabetes in US is not satisfactory. Despite of providing various medical facilities, the country has to face the consequences of diabetes(Jessikah Morales, 2020). Major aspects of diabetes Diabetes is a disease which takes place inside the body when the pancreases of the body do not work properly and the production of insulin hormone decreases. When the production of insulin stops inside the body, the sugar level of the body increases up-to a dangerous level because the glucose could not enter in the body cells. High sugar level creates the various physical diseases like kidney diseases, eyes diseases and many other diseases. That is why it is very essential to control the diabetes at an initial level by in taking insulation(Andres V Ardisson Korat, 2020). Cause and effects of diabetes The major cause behind the diabetes is to very less production of insulin that can-not be cured properly. Only taking the insulin through injection or any other method is the solution of controlling diabetes. Taking sufficient and balanced diet and regular exercise can also minimize the control of diabetes(prevention, 2020). Diabetes can leads to nerve damage of the person, cardiovascular diseases may also take place inside the body. Due to excessive level of sugar, kidney problem may arise inside the body.Regular and timely receiving the insulin through injection can only control the blood sugar level(Government, National Diabetes Statistics Report 2020 Estimates of Diabetes and Its Burden in the United States, 2020). Rapid growth of diabetes in US The diabetes is keeping on increase in the country. Because of imbalance diet and hectic schedule of the persons, the blood sugar level can increase(P Le, 2020).Many reasons are the major causes of diabetes that are as follows: Genetic reasons or family history

ANALYSIS OVER DIABETES IN US If the parents or other family members of a person are suffering from diabetes, there are high chances that the person will be suffering from diabetes. In these types of cases, no one can cure the diabetes properly, only having a significant amount of insulin on a daily bases can protect the person from the consequences of diabetes(J Divers, 2020). Obesity Excessive health also stops the production of insulin and because of this the person has to suffer from diabetes. Excessive weight may also leads towards various health issues because the body functions do not work properly. Especially the glucose of the blood increases because of the excess of weight(Government, National Diabetes Statistics Report 2020 Estimates of Diabetes and Its Burden in the United States, 2020). Unbridled eating of sugary products Lack of balanced diet and excessive consumption of sugary products will also leads toward enhancement of sugar level inside the body. Excessive sugar level is responsible for diabetes and may increase the consequences of diabetes(RM Burke, 2020). Infection in body parts Infection and prolonged disease can contribute in diabetes. The production of insulin may be stopped due to the disease. Short and long terms diseases helps in reducing the production of insulin inside the body because the functions of pancreas may slow down due to prolonged diseases(Prevention, 2020). Lack of physical exercise Doing very little physical exercise or no physical exercise will not only leads towards obesity but also leads towards diabetes inside the body. Moreover physical exercise may also control the consequences of excessive sugar inside the blood. By doing regular physical exercise, diabetes can be controlled at an initial level or suffering from ‘type 2’ diabetes is very low(prevention, 2020). It can be said that by doing regular exercise the patient can stop the consequences of diabetes(P Le, 2020). The demographic impact of diabetes in US
ANALYSIS OVER DIABETES IN US Diabetes patients are not equally distributed throughout the country. In some remote areas, there are a high percentage of patients live. Many social determinants are responsible for high percentage of diabetes. Usually the people who live in rural and remote areas are suffering from the diabetes because they are not aware about the various programs of diabetes launched by the government. They also do not much aware about their health conditions(P Le, 2020). Major social determinants responsible for diabetes Low education level:Most of the people who live in remote areas do not have sufficient knowledge about health. They have a low literacy rate and they are not aware about the techniques to control the diabetes. Lack of education makes the people unaware about the consequences and early symptoms of diabetes. Low educated people do not understand about the treatment of diabetes that is why education is must for improving the health condition inside the country(Jessikah Morales, 2020). Poor economic condition:Because of poor education condition, most of the people who live in remote areas do not have employment and that is why they have to face poor economic conditions. People are not able to purchase sufficient food for taking a balanced diet and they are not able to afford costly medicinal treatments for diabetes. The starting check-ups and screening facilities are also costly for the poor person that is why poor economic conditions are responsible for increasing diabetes in rural areas of US(Jessikah Morales, 2020). Lack of awareness about screening:Many people who live in remote areas are not much aware about screening of diabetes. Late diagnosis of diabetes may be critical for the patient and he will has to face the consequences of diabetes. Most of the people who live in remote area even do not understand about the early symptoms and consequences of diabetes. They are totally unaware about this disease(Jessikah Morales, 2020). Costly medical facilities:The medical facilities related to diabetes are too expensive to afford by normal people. Government of US should provide affordable medical services so that the poor people of the country can easily handle the expenses related to check-ups and other medicinal help. Receiving insulin at a daily bases is not easy task for middle class people. It affects their financial position that is why the
ANALYSIS OVER DIABETES IN US government should provide affordable medical are and medicine for the poor people of the country(Jessikah Morales, 2020). Consequences related to diabetes A large volume of sugar inside the body of the patients will destroy many systems of the body. If a person is suffering from diabetes, he will have to face many consequences. Some of the major consequences are as follows: Increased thrust and frequent urination are the major symptoms of diabetes in the people. Extreme fatigue is noticed in the person who is suffering from diabetes. Increased weight is also a major symptom of diabetes which should be control immediately to avoid the consequences of diabetes. Foot problems are usually noticed after having diabetes at later stages. Eyes problems can be seen frequently after having diabetes from a long time. Kidney functions may disturbed or stopped because of excessive sugar level of blood. Sometimes the nerves of the body may also get damaged because of the excessiveness of sugar level. There are also chances of suffering from heart and cardiovascular diseases because of diabetes. The higher level of diabetes can lead toward detrimental position of the body and may be very harmful for the life of the patient(Braunwald, 2019). Prognosis related to diabetes It was found after a lot of research that type 1, diabetes is developed in the body because of genetic or environmental factors. When the diabetes can-not be controlled from a long time, the patient can be suffering from foot problem and blindness. Macro vascular and cardiovascular diseases may also take place, when the diabetes is uncontrolled. Overall, it can be said that very much harmful effect can be noticed if the diabetes can-not be controlled at the earlier stages(Braunwald, 2019). Future of diabetes in US

ANALYSIS OVER DIABETES IN US Government of US is offering various program related to improve the diabetes, like ‘DPP’ that is Diabetes Prevention Program which states that people may reduce the risk associatedwithdiabetesbyreducingtheirweightandfollowingaperfectlifestyle (prevention, 2020). However no medicine or changes can cure the diabetes properly but after making a lot of changes in the lifestyle person can delay the stage of ‘type 2’ diabetes and stagnate on ‘type 1’ diabetes. The patient can minimize or slow down the consequences of diabetes after adopting the facilities provided by these programs. The government of the country is focusing on DPP lifestyle changing program after finding large benefits of lifestyle change program (Services, 2020). CDC’s National Diabetes Prevention Program is also a step taken by the government to prevent the people of the country from this life taking disease. Another program ‘NIDDK’ provides valuable information related to many diabetes related topics(Services, 2020). Despite of various programs and schemes launched by the government of US, this disease could not be eliminated properly from the public of the country. The government need to more cautious about stopping the new cases of diabetes in the country by providing sufficient information about diabetes and its consequences(Andres V Ardisson Korat, 2020). Conclusion On the bases of the above stated analysis, it can be said that the statistics of diabetes casesarenotsatisfactoryinsidethecountry.Manyofthepeoplehavetofacethe consequences of diabetes and suffering from poor health conditions. Many social health determinants are responsible for developing diabetes. Government of US are framing many programs to cease the present condition of diabetes of patient by suggesting them a proper life style pattern. Moreover the country is also providing information related to diabetes. Still for improvement in the condition of diabetes, the government should provide the treatment like providing insulin at affordable cost for poor people. The people should be aware about the symptoms of diabetes so that they can stop the disease at a very initial level.
