1. Managerial Competency ProfileTalking about management or managerial skills, it reflects what actions are needed to betaken for an individual, to handle different situations. It has arisen a question also what makes aperson a good manager in a certain position. This topic about managerial competencies seems toa source of endless debate. Managerial competencies can be defined as skills, motives as well asright attitude which are necessary to perform a job role. It includes characteristics of anindividual that makes them a good manager in a company such as communication skills, decisionmaking abilities, problem solving, focus on achievement of business objectives and thecapability to work within a large group of team. Since businesses have long been most capable ofanalysing and utilizing the skills and knowledge of human beings. Therefore, before giving jobemployers of such firms evaluate managerial competencies of human assets, that are better to fitinto an equation. In this regard, skills and knowledge are considered as a part of a manager’scompetency (Bach and Veit, 2017). This would can be measured through intangible assets suchas effective communication and teamwork, which are harder for an individual to pin down andevaluate. I have a personally interest to enhance my managerial skills in order to get a specificposition in a company. Here, go through on different managerial test concepts, I have evaluatedthat this competency is divided into 6 main competencies. It includes Personal management,Team leadership, Political Aptitude and Persuasiveness, Problem Solving & Decision MakingCompetencies, Administrative and Operational competencies, Strategic and Organisation-WideCompetencies. All these part of competencies make an individual a good and an effectivemanager who is perfect to perform its assignable roles and responsibilities. By aware on theconcept of business operations, it has been evaluated that it is conducted under intensecompetitive working environment as well as ever changing environment. In this regard, in orderto cope with such dynamic and complex business environment, a managerial person needs todevelop some effective competencies to handle the pressure and survive over there. Here, I haveevaluated that to get a managerial position, it is required by me to possess ability to understandcomplex business environment, advance or proactive management and more. All these things areessential for promoting innovation, developing creativity in business, managing complexities oforganisation, etc. Along with this, the most crucial managerial competency which a managermust possess is ability to learn from past failure and learns from how to forecast futuresituations.1
