1ANNOTATED BIBLIOGRAPHY
Annotated bibliography helps in development of skills in analysing and understanding
the concept of any research. The primary aim of this annotated bibliography is to formulate a
viable report on the effective practices by nursing professionals in any healthcare settings or
medical unit. Clinical decision-making is a practical approach that would develop the patient
or client in understanding their needs and increases their level of satisfaction. This report
focuses on the three researched journals or articles that recognize the ideas that directly
influenced the effective delivery of nursing services.

The conflict can arise due to multiple factors starting from the stress environment to the high
conflict environment. The central premise of the article is to inspect the conflict management
style that the nurses of the emergency department (ED) would implement or use in managing
the conflict along with formulating a supportive environment to reduce work stress. Johansen
and Cadmus (2016), has found primary arguments that are directly relating to the nursing
services through practices and implementation of a supportive team and implementation of
conflict management. The significant findings of this research are that there is an existing
relationship between the conflict management style and work stress. Around 73 percent of
nursing professionals are dealing with stress, and the remaining 27 percent of the nurses deal
with pressure from moderate to high. Another significant finding was that the nursing staffs
experience low work stress if they are supported by an effective work environment.
However, a majority of nursing professionals do not find any effective organizational support
to reduce work stress. It can be concluded that the supportive work environment, along with
the avoidant conflict management style, are the significant elements in increased work stress.
The conflict management skill training is the best recommendation for resolving the issues.

The intended audience in this research was for senior management of the organization. The
study demonstrates the problematic aspects of the nursing professionals, and to reduce the
conflict, senior healthcare leaders or senior managers need to incorporate the necessary
actions such as training or regulation for addressing the problematic area.

The central premise of the article is the usage of electronic communication among nursing
professionals for effective communication. The communication includes patient health
outcomes, report, or any necessary data that needs to be communicated with other healthcare
professionals. The significant findings of this research are that it has provided ease in
delivering the digital images, informal consultation, or any communication related to the
transfer of the patient. The significant devices or methods used in the communications are
email, mobile phone, video conferencing, or any internet messages. However, the information
shared is sensitive and creates a challenge within health care. The patient information needs
to be safely secured, and misused of any of the documents of patients can result in
consequences. The ICT supports system can be used daily for effective communication. The
adoption of technology would enhance the job execution of healthcare professionals. It would
promote improved synchronized work, along with the development of practical knowledge
among the nursing staff. In this research, the intended audience is nursing directors. They
play an active role in promoting the benefits of electronic communication within healthcare
settings. They provide a practical approach in the adoption of this practice and can explore
the obstacles that may come to the implementation of new communication methods.

This research finds out the relationship between communication skills and patient care
behaviors of nursing staff. There should be a good relationship between the caregiver and the
care receiver. Therefore, communication is an essential factor or element in increasing the
relationship between nurses and patients. The original idea of this research is to promote
effective communication in healthcare settings or hospitals. The nursing behavior is
completely dependent on the communication skills. The major finding of this research is that
around 78.4 percent of nursing professionals find difficulty in communicating any bad or sad
news to the patients and their families. Therefore, communication skills are very much
important for incorporating the effects of the relationship between a nurse and a patient.
Another finding is that quality care also depends on the communication skills of the nurses.
The primary conclusion that has been driven by this research is that effective communication
is the primary cause of improving patient outcomes. Therefore, effective communication
should be considered as a major factor in improving the ability to achieve the needs of the
patents. Nursing professionals act as an advocate to the patients, and nurses can make with
effective communications. The intended audience in this research is nurses, along with the
senior management of the hospital or healthcare settings. Nursing professionals should
understand the importance of communication. The clinical practice must be incorporated with
communication for the best patient outcome. The senior leaders should provide the necessary
training of effective communication towards the nursing staff.

Recommendations
From the above discussion, nursing professionals work under tremendous pressure and have
huge responsibilities in delivering a high quality of care. Therefore, the conflict management
style needs to be implemented to improve the support system of the healthcare organization.
Apart from this, effective communication is also crucial among nursing professionals that
would ease their hectic schedules. The communication can be improved with the
implementation of ICT within the healthcare organization. In addition to electronic
communication, verbal communication is also crucial. Nursing professionals are the frontline
healthcare professionals and need to deal with the patients daily. They need to empathetic
while managing the workload. Therefore, practical training for communication is
recommended for the benefit of nurses.
