What are different types of leadership style used by Apple Inc
Leadership styles can be described as a characteristic behaviour of a leader at the time of
directing, motivating, managing and guiding a group of people. There are different types of
leadership styles used by people for purpose of motivating others to perform effectively and
creating innovation in organisation. Apple Inc is one of the large and most successful
organisations which has employed around 154,000 employees in their organisation, In order to
manage the work of these employees, managers of Apple need to adopt different types of
leadership styles. It is an organisation that is not dependent of a single leadership style instead
adopts multiple leadership styles for purpose of the success of their organisation. Explanation of
different types of leadership styles adopted by Apple Inc are mentioned below:
Authoritatian leadership styles: It is a leadership style in which expectation are imposed by
leaders over their followrs and also outcome is laso defined by them. It is a style in which only
one person has all the powers. It can be suitable only for situation where leaders are considered
as most knowledgable person. This leadership style can be adopte by Apple Inc when there is
less time is available for purpose of making decision. It allow them to make quick decision and
also to take advantage of opportunity occur at marketplace.
Participative leadership: It is a leadership style which consisit different members of company in
process of decision making and it is also known as democratic leadership. Apple Inc is taking
care of their employees and in order to provide them sense of belongingness, they includes
employees in different decision making process. It allow them to make employees more
engaged, included as well as motivated in order to contribute for purpose of the success of
organisation.
Delegative leadership: It is leadership style in which the focus on individuals is on delegation of
initiative of team members. It becomes a successful strategy when team members are ready to
take responsibility, competent and also prefer to engage in individual work. Apple Inc wants to
make their employees more competent and due to this, they are delegating initiative to team
