Internet Addiction: Negative Impacts on Relationships
The term internet addiction is defined an urge control disorder. It does not include an
intoxicating drug’s use. The internet addiction is considered as same as pathological gamble.
There are certain users of the internet, which can make the sentimental attachments to on-line
friend and actions they make on the screen of computer. The users of internet can enjoy
internet’s characteristics that permit them to know, mix, and exchange idea by using the chat
room, virtual community and other networking websites. Further, there are various internet
users who spend most of the time in researching the topic related to interest online or
blogging. As same as other addictions, the people who are addicted to use internet, have
virtual fantasy world to associate with real people by Internet, as the replacement for real-life
individual connections that they are not able to get usually (Freeman, 2017).
Further, the common good of an individual describes the dignity. Common goods of the
people are features, which are advantageous for the human being. Internet is considered as
the major cause of interrupted relations. The internet addiction may result in subsequent
failure of relationships. The people, who are addicted to Internet, have less interaction with
people, families, relatives and friends in actual.
Furthermore, the human dignity is the god gifted characteristics. Every human being has this
characteristic of human dignity. For securing this god gift, an individual is required to obtain
best habits. It shows that all individuals deserve respect and admiration. The Internet
addiction may lead to poor impression all around. They are required to be recognized as
important resident in the society. Besides, the human dignity is very essential to avoid the

negative impacts on relationships because of the internet addiction. In fact, while certain
individuals use the advantages of economic development to improve solely themselves, it
rejects the human dignity and human rights of those who are victims of the addiction of
internet (Montag and Reuter, 2017).
However, meaningful in certain manners, an unrestrained use of internet
may have the adverse effect on the social life of people. Here are certain
manners by which this has had the effects on social life particularly while
misused The addiction to internet is the main reason of bad relationship.
At the time when an individual gets involved in the online activities, they
normally get apparent to the impacts of the addiction to the internet.
Seeing them from exterior, the development gets more and more of
apprehension to special one (Cavallar, 2017).
There are various kinds of addiction of the internet like cyber-porn,
wagering, and cyber-relations. Additionally, the regular practice of surfing
internet can also be critical in an indirect manner. We can see that, the
main adverse impact of internet addiction is that individuals do not
interact with other people. This hazardously influences the capacity of
individuals to have one on one interaction with others. In present world,
the people are utilising the text and mail to have conversation with each
other in place of speaking with others face to face. The person becomes
arrogant and antisocial. Therefore, there would be the loss of relations in a
person’s life. In the end, a person will loss the self-identity. There are
some people, who are fascinated with internet and do not have capability
to manage the trends online. The relations are currently abandoned by

the emotional and sexual relation eased by the online platform (Martinez-
Alier, et. al, 2016).
The best solution to out of the addition of internet is to quite the internet
entirely. Therefore, in order to ignore the bad impacts of internet addition
on relationship, the people should control themselves. The self-control is
best way to avoid Internet addiction. For the solution of this problem, the
government of state should organise the campaign or awareness program
to make aware the citizens to not to use internet so much (Shek, Yu and
Sun, 2016).
In conclusion, it is required by the states to keep in the mind that the
advantages of economic development are the case of common good, and
they are required to reallocate this with tools to stop internet addiction.
Moreover, the understanding of impacts of internet addiction will be helpful in
transforming the world.
