The purpose of the article is to explain the idea of knowledge management in detail
and its importance and impact in the private and public sectors. The paper analyzes the
challenges that organizations face while implementing frameworks for knowledge
management and how it brings competitive advantage to multinational companies. The paper
also delves deeper into the relations of knowledge management implementation in corporate
sectors and other sectors as well. The research also identifies the cultural and organizational
changes required in public sectors that will enable them to use and share knowledge across
the various departments.
Knowledge management has been accepted as one of the most effective tool to
maintain organizational competitive advantage and survival in the competitive industry.
Knowledge management concerns itself with the management. Development and utilization
of the competencies of their employees. It enables high production and flexibility of the
employees and thus, practicing knowledge management has become perquisite for the
organizational leaders. Knowledge management is requires a systematic structure and
through which organizations are able to use the tacit and explicit knowledge that the
employees possess to create better value for the organization. the research is conducted
through an exploratory method and focuses on secondary data sources collected from
journals, magazines, articles, web search and media releases.
The organizational knowledge management theory is applicable to the article. The
case studies presented are based on that theory. Organizational knowledge management
theory focuses on the organizational structure and hierarchy that enables or creates barrier to
