INTRODUCTION
Projects are the planned work with the help of which the any task or problems are carefully
analysed and resolved by the project managers (Grantcharov and et. al., 2019). After analysing
the increasing number of patients of cardiovascular diseases, a heart surgeon John Price and
physicist Ben Williams decided to work on a Machine Learning project which will facilitate
them in processing of ECG test data. For this they are planning to develop a cloud based mobile
application under a business venture called Cardio Health. In this report various steps of
developing such mobile application are discussed in which the system development life cycle
stages are discussed, various documents related to the meetings are enclosed, all the stakeholders
are identified. Along with this a project charter is developed and work breakdown structure is
also prepared which facilitate completion of the project effectively.
MAIN BODY
Description of the life cycle phases for this project
The process of developing the software has to pass through various steps as it has a
complex process which has to be dealt with. Any in appropriate step can affect their quality and
the outcome both. For this it is important for the managers to have dedication and expertise in
developing the software. Software development life cycle has various phases which the
development has go through (Kerzner, 2017). Various phases that the development of mobile
application is given below that support the ECG test are given below with the help of which an
effective application can be developed:
ï‚· Planning: The planning phase of the life cycle defines the calculation of the strengths
and weaknesses of the project that is to be undertaken. In this phase the objectives of
undertaking the project is defined. This phase is considered to be the brainstorming phase
in which all the requirements of the project are identified and for which effective
communication must be done with the stakeholders of the project. For developing the
mobile application consultation need to be taken from Information system services which
will enable them in determining and planning various actions for the projects. In this
phase a model is developed about how such application will work which includes that the
application will directly read the digital signals from the ECG devices, which will further
be sent to the cloud based application where it can be processed and results can be drawn.

In addition to this source of resources will be identified such as for this project John and
Ben involved Arthur Davis for funding their project and they have also applied for the
biomedical government grant. On the basis of the consultation and discussion it is
identified that the duration of the project will be for a period of one year that will be from
1 January 2020 to 31 December 2020 (Leach, 2016).
ï‚· Feasibility Analysis: In this phase the details related to the project will be discussed in
details and this will enable in analysing the feasibility of the project. The entire project
will be divided into smaller segments so that tasks can be allocated to different people
associated with the project such as developers, testers, designers etc. For this work
breakdown structure is used as with the help of this all the work can be divided into
various activities which reduce the chances of redundancy of the activities. The project of
developing mobile application has various requirements that must be identified in detail
so that the viability of the project can be analysed. The tasks which are to be performed
are identified which includes purchasing of various ECG devices which has to be
installed at the centres where the test can be done. Along with the software must be
installed within such devices so that they can take the signals and can transfer them to the
cloud. This will increase the requirement of trainings to the staff as they need to have an
understanding of various concepts and how the system works. All these will lead to some
cost to them which is estimated to be around £100000 which is quite high. But this
business has possibility of recovering the cost efficiently as the number of patients is
increasing (Li and et. al., 2019).
ï‚· Designing: After completing the analysis the development of the software come down in
the stage of designing in which the focus is on the architecture of the project. This is one
of the crucial phase as in this the application is developed on the basis of the requirement
of the client. For this project after indentifying 20 centres of ECG data collection
software as a service will be design on the cloud. In this a web server will be establish
that will keep all the centres connected, will receive signals from the ECG devices and
from this all the data will be transferred to the cloud from it will be stored. A Machine
learning application and data mining application will be installed which will facilitate in
extracting the data by analysing the signals of the test (Mall, 2018). On the basis of the
demand or requirement the practitioners and the cardiologists the data can be downloaded

from the cloud. Along with this the conclusions so made by the cardiologists can also be
downloaded by the general practitioner. This is how the application is designed and will
work. For this various coding need to be written down with the help of Information
system services.
ï‚· Development and implementation: In this phase of the development of the software
actual coding is done by the programmers so that the design can be converted into an
application that can be run. For this various blocks are developed such as a block for
collecting the signals and then storing them on the cloud, conditions for processing and
extracting results of the tests etc. All the coding will be done and the application pages
will be designed and developed. Once all the blocks are developed they are integrated
into one application which can be operated (de Vasconcelos, and et. al., 2017). To
develop and set-up this mobile application web server will be developed which will store
all the data of the ECG test. For this coding will done for the database with the help of
which the ECG data be uploaded. In addition to this Data Mining and Machine Learning
Applications will be developed with the database that will enable the general practitioner
and cardiologists to download the data required by them. This is because with the help of
these two the queries can be generated for fetching the required data. The system
software will enable to download the general practitioner and cardiologists to download
the reports on the basis of the information so filled by them in the database.
ï‚· Testing: After the implementation phase the testing of the application so developed is
undertaking and for this the users are provided the application to use them. For this
project the doctors will be informed for the application so that they can conduct test with
application and download the reports. This will enable them to identify bugs in the
software which are to be managed and removed. By recording the conclusion so made by
the cardiologists and uploading their reports the efficiency of the application can be
tested so that the changes required can be made in it (Razi and Shariat, 2017).
ï‚· Maintenance: Maintenance phase is the one in which the application will be manage
after it is put in use. The maintenance of the application includes that all the up
gradations and updates are installed in the application so that they can be made efficient.
