Assessors Overview of Assessment KitThis Assessment Kit is for use to ensure compliant assessment when delivering within the delivery mode stated previously. It incorporates the assessment of the underpinning theoryand practical application of the skills and knowledge associated with the unit specified, along with any associated requirements specified in the training package.The client version of this Assessment Kit (once completed) must be submitted along with all other marking evidence including the final Record of Outcomes prior to certification.Unit CompetenciesUnit competencies contain the performance criteria, critical evidence, skills and knowledge against which the candidate will be assessed. This assessment kit requires the completion ofone (1) unit of competency. The unit of competency covered by this assessment kit is:Insert Unit codeInsert unit nameCPCCBC4009AApply Legal principles to low rise constructionEach part of this kit will outline, within the “Decision Making Rules” section exactly what thecandidate is to be assessed against and has been structured to ensure adherence to:Principles of AssessmentFairnessThe individual learner’s needs are considered in the assessment process. Where appropriate, reasonable adjustments are applied by the RTO to take into account the individual learner’s needs. TheRTO informs the learner about the assessment process, and provides the learner with the opportunity to challenge the result of the assessment and be reassessed if necessary.FlexibilityAssessment is flexible to the individual learner by:reflecting the learner’s needs;assessing competencies held by the learner no matter how or where they have been acquired; anddrawing from a range of assessment methods and using those that are appropriate to the context, the unit of competency and associated assessment requirements, and the individual.ValidityAny assessment decision of the RTO is justified, based on the evidence of performance of the individual learner.ReliabilityEvidence presented for assessment is consistently interpreted and assessment results are comparable irrespective of the assessor conducting the assessment.Rules of EvidenceValidityThe assessor is assured that the learner has the skills, knowledge and attributes as described in the module or unit of competency and associated assessment requirements.SufficiencyThe assessor is assured that the quality, quantity andrelevance of the assessment evidence enables a judgment to be made of a learner’s competency.AuthenticityThe assessor is assured that the evidence presented for assessment is the learner’s own work.CurrencyThe assessor is assured that the assessment evidence demonstrates current competency. Evidence requiredYou will be required to enter your written responses into the Assessment 1 questionnaire. This may be typed into the digital document or written in the space provided of a paper-based assessment. Range and conditionsThis assessment can be undertaken with consideration of the followingconditions:No time limit to complete your written assessmentThe assessment does not have to be completed in onesessionYour assessor will provide a due date so you can manageyour time to ensure your assessment is submitted prior to thedeadlineMaterials and resources requiredThis assessment is an open book assessment meaning you can access:learning resources you have been provided as part of thiscoursematerials available within your workplacecontent you have identified during your own researchTo complete the questionnaire you may also require access to a computer(with access to Microsoft word) or a pen (if you are completing the responsesmanually)Assessor interventionYour assessor will explain the assessment instructions prior to commencement. Clients may ask questions at any point during the process ofanswering the questions and prior to submission.Reasonable adjustmentsIn the event that you have difficulty understanding the assessment tasks due to language or other difficulties, your trainer will consider reasonable adjustments to the assessment task in order to give you every opportunity to achieve competency. Decision making rulesYou will be assessed on your ability to:Provide accurate written answers to the questions askedYour assessor has been provided with model answers for each question Reassessment Reassessment for this assessment will involve re-submission of some / all of this questionnaire.
