Introduction
The assignment brings about the discussion on the assessment of a healthcare
organisation, and their mission and vision statements. CDC (Centre for Disease Control and
Prevention) has been taken as the healthcare organisation for the analysis. In addition, there
will be a discussion of critique of the mission and the major resources of the organisation
leading to attainment of goals.
The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC)
In the United States, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) have been
a leader in the national public health institutes within the country serving individuals. The
organisation operates with an objective to protect health and foster the aspect of safety of
individuals implementing the measures of control and prevention of disease (Mast et al.,
2017).
Mission Statement
CDC has been operating 24/7 with the aim to promote and secure America from the
respective issues or threats of health, safety, and security in both U.S. and other foreign
countries. CDC aims to fight with every kind of diseases, and with different circumstances
such as chronic, curable or preventable, or due to human error, or a deliberate attack. To
accomplish mission, the organisation provides healthcare information and services which
protects the nation from dangerous health threats.
Vision of CDC
The vision statement deals with the long-term perspective of ensuring growth,
success, and attainment of the organisational goals and objectives in the future years. Thus,
CDC has the vision to create a healthy workplace or work environment which ensures that
employees working in CDC are valued, respected, and supported in their efforts to
accomplish the public health mission.
