1NURSING1.Responsibility for a chief risk officer in a health care organizationThe chief risk officer is the executive who deals with the assessing and mitigating thecompetitive and threats of the healthcare of an organization’s finance and capital. The CRO isresponsible for the implementation of managing the operational risk and the process ofmitigation for avoiding losses from the failed systems or policies.The responsibilities of CRO depend on the size of the industry. Generally the CRO is responsiblefor the operating the risk management which includes the identification of risks and mitigationactivities (Labelle & Rouleau, 2017).As now-a-days the healthcare sector is developing broadly and is under a rapid transformation.Chief risk officer are trained to manage different issues in different settings. The responsibilitiesof a risk manager are determined by the organization in which they were working. The areas inwhich these officers work are following:Finance and insuranceEvent managementClinical researchPsychological and human healthcareEmergency preparednessThese officers identify and evaluate the risks to reduce the injury of the patients, staffs and alsothe visitors in an organization. The Centers for Disease Control published that prolonged use ofthe urinary catheter leads to the risk factors of urinary tract infection. On the basis of this studythe officer implemented a risk management plan which the physicians are advised for the regularevaluation of the catheter (Skurka, 2017).
