Assessment Item 2: Team work and reflection
Part Four
Reflection
In modern days the leadership skill need to have a mix of project manager and
leadership skills. The leadership skills setting example for others to follow, good
listening skill, good ethical behavior and consistency, trustworthy, good hold on
communication, negotiation, conflict resolution and problem solving are required to be
present in a leader or project manager to set the example for others and motivate the
whole team along with the capability to delegate the work equally among the team
members so that none of them feel like overloaded (Krahn & Hartment, 2006). Exactly the
same leadership skills are also used in the current report development and I could
experience the same while developing the assessment like the every one of the issues
been understood, collaboration is been persuaded, devoted the greater part of the work
to group, characterized tenets and parts of members.
An IT project manager need to have few technical entry requirement that’s it, then all
other skills required are of leadership like excellent communication skill, team builder to
maintain adequate quality of work, superb communication skill to coordinate among the
group, delegation of work equally among the team members, keep the motivational level
always high, very rigid in decisions but equally flexible to hear from others (National
Careers Service, 2017). Good analysis techniques and skills are also required for the
proper handling of large IT projects. The IT projects are normally very much time driven
in nature and all are handled by the human being, so specially in the field of IT the
project manager should have the leadership skills too to lead the team effectively and
bring out the great results of the project.
