INTRODUCTION The current assignment is based on two motivational theories such as Maslow's hierarchy of needs and Vroom's theory of expectancy. MAIN BODY Compare and contrast two motivational theories Motivation in workplace is one of the most essential thing considered by companies because it helps to create positive working environment around the place where workers perform theirdailyactivities.Itdefinedaswillingnesstoutilizeextremelevelofefforttoward organizational goals conditioned by attempts ability to satisfy employees needs. Motivational theories will help to motivate individual at workplace when management adopt it within their practices. Vroom's expectancy theory is the best motivational theory, it assumes that nature results from conscious choices among alternatives whose aim is to increase pleasure and to decrease pain (Lloyd and Mertens, 2018). This theory stresses upon perception and expectations what is actual and real is immaterial. There are more different theories available used for same purpose but it had unique way to perform. As compare to Vroom theory, Maslow's theory of motivation, focus on needs of individuals, people get motivated by something extra as compared to only financial or cash benefits (Velmurugan and Sankar, 2017). On the other hand, Vroom Expectancy theory, does not focus on needs, it concentrates on outcomes. Maslow theory of motivation, addresses needs of people in a hierarchy manner, whereas Vroom theory focuses on psychological needs where final objective to person is to attain maximum pleasure. CONCLUSION From above comparison, it has been concluded that Maslow's and Vroom theory contribute to enhance motivational level of workers in workplace, but the both are different from each other on the basis of principles and stages.
