1.3 Project description: Globex took in charge of the MBFSA project. MBFSA
project is being executed by a client of Globex, Virtucon. The mission of Globex firm
is to enable farmers increase farmer’s productivity by reducing the time needed
along with the project cost. Globex is currently working with two main products which
includes Farm Equipment and Precision Farming.
Globex aims in finding solutions to one of the consistent problems faced by the
farmers, which include deciding which crops to grow in a particular season. As a
solution to the problem, Globex has decided to develop an application that will assist
the farmers to plan their crops in every season. The application is designed to help
farmers make a strategic decision related to growing and over growing of crops.
The application that is proposed to be developed will enable the local government on
the weather conditions along with the demand of a particular crop in a particular
area. The proposed application will collect names and geographical locations of a
particular area, names of the crops to be grown. On basis of the collected data, the
application will provide suggestions to the farmers related to the planning of crops.
The proposed project is expected to help the farmers to yield more profit in less time.
The system that is being proposed is expected to include a detailed reporting system
related to the crops required in a particular geographical area, the farmers registered
in a particular geographical area along with the requirements of all the registered
wholesalers of a particular area. All these information will enable the application to
perform all the tasks that it is expected to perform in a seamless manner. The
system will be designed and developed by Virtucon.

The above table identifies the communication plan that is prepared for the project. The
communication plan that is prepared will ensure effective communication among the project tea
members. This is necessary to ensure that all the necessary data related to planning and execution
of a project is rightly communicated to the project team. The communication plan further ensures
that the project stakeholder are kept informed about the project progress and execution of the
project.
Part 4 (Individual)
4.1 Reflection
This project has been a great learning experience. The project involves planning and implementation
of a software system that will help the farmers in gathering weather related data and will assist the
farmers in management and execution of the project. The project is undertaken by Globex, whose
vision is to increase the productivity of the crops by reducing the time and cost required for the
project. The Globex Farm has over 30 years of experience in agricultural business and the
organization has planned an implementation of an application that will help in better management
of the crop growing process. While working in this assessment, I have understood the importance of
project leadership. There are certain qualities that enables a project leader to complete a project
successfully.
A leader is necessary to be a good motivator. A leader generally should have an efficient
communication skills and should be an active listener as well. It is quite essential for a leader to
identify the major issues related to the project and find a solution to the problem. These leadership
qualities ensure effective execution and management of MBFSA project.
Team building is an important role of a project manager. A project manager is required to
understand and identify the skills required by his team in appropriate execution of a project. The
project manager of an IT project should be able to make sure that the capability of each member of
the project team and should assign roles to them accordingly. An IT project is mainly subjected to a
number of risks. A project manager should be capable of identifying and managing those risks so
that the issues in the project can be eliminated.
This project has therefore help me to learn about the different issues related to management and
project execution. The project has significantly helped me in learning about various tools and
techniques used in management and execution of a project.
