Personal Statement
This is to inform you that after completing my Graduation successfully I would like to
continue my studies in the respective field and join the LLM (Masters of law) in the
University. I would therefore like to put forward my application with immense hope and
expectations for the respective course in law. I have aspired to become one of the finest
professionals in the respective field, however in order to grow and evolve I need
sufficient knowledge and experience in the domain. Under this master’s course I believe
that my expectation will be fulfilled and I would gain complete knowledge by studying
from books, attending session and class lectures.
I believe the University searches for finest students with impressive academic
background and also those who are focussed and goal oriented. They prefer selecting
right candidate who are aspiring to become professionals in the field. Hence, I would
like to mention that you may have complete faith in my abilities as I look forward to
study in the course I assure that there will be no issues to plague you from my end. I am
focussed about my career and I need guidance and support from the University so as to
evolve as a successful professional in the domain so that both the university and my

INTRODUCTION
Teaching is a complicated yet multifaceted activity and it demands proper instructor or
teacher who would offer adequate guidance to the students and help them grow into a
knowledgeable person. Selection and implementation of apt teaching methods are of
immense importance in the context of teaching as it enables an individual teacher or
mentor in using most effective techniques to help students understand the information
and gain knowledge. It is, therefore, the responsibility of the teacher to adopt flexible yet
a combination of multi-activities to ensure that the information is conveyed in a
comprehensible and effective manner (Arbaugh, 2005). Effective teaching involves
incorporation and imparting of relevant knowledge in a most understandable manner so
that students could make use of the knowledge in a proper way. However, simply
preachy and pedagogic techniques may often lead to information sharing in a serious

way and this may lead to dissociation in class from lack of interest. Students may ignore
attending classes, hence in order to grow their interest and encourage involvement in
the subject, the content and teaching methods should be specially developed to help in
imparting education and information in a simple, interesting and unforgettable manner
(Boyle, 2010).
MAIN BODY
One of the most common ways of ensuring effective teaching is by aligning three main
components of instruction, such as learning objectives, assessments and instructional
activities. Selection and implementation of effective teaching methods enhance scopes
of learning by turning the learning process into an effective system. For example the
instructor begins with the articulation of setting clear learning objectives that would be
achieved by the end of the course, secondly includes activities such as case studies,
practical lab sessions, discussions and debate. These activities teach ways of taking
goal oriented steps through adequate practices. Thirdly, the assessment procedure,
such as tests, evaluations, performances gives scope for demonstrating knowledge
acquired and skills developed from the course (Brockbank and McGill, 2007). Thus the
feedback is shared in the end to understand how far teaching and mentoring methods
helped in imparting knowledge.
Besides distinguished approaches in teaching, there are unambiguous and implicit
techniques which further help the teacher in understanding operating teaching and
erudition. Under this approach, additional mentors are included to help in completing the
overall system. A teaching methodology ideally is a collection of several techniques and
principles which the teacher employs to help in conducting the learning session and
assist students in understanding better. Primarily one of the most used teaching
methods applied is learner-based and this allows the tutor in solving the issues in a

As far as methods are concerned it is essential to create an involving learning

study amidst safe, healthy and supportive environment. Besides developing technical
knowledge education is incomplete without the knowledge of self-realisation and self-
actualisation. Thus, the cross cultural understanding and value of diversity are of key
importance (Kolb and Kolb, 2005).
Thus key characteristics of effective teaching include the following;

Experience in teaching is essential in order to evolve as an impressive teacher in the
domain. Before application of methods and key tools, the individual teacher should
prepare well and equip himself to teach a wide range of students nurturing different
areas of interest and ability (Kolb and Kolb, 2005). Effective teaching methods here
should include,
i. Adjust teaching content as per the need and ability of a student
ii. Keep updated with adequate knowledge and information in the field or
particular discipline and include such ideas with specific lessons
iii. Organise important resources in a proper way to help in the pedagogic
process
iv. Use proper communication skill
v. Identify specific goals and key objectives and then select teaching methods
suitable to the content of the teaching.

Pintrich model (1994)
This model is based on the concept of reciprocal determinism as put forward by
Bandura and it has main components like;
a. Relevant issues such as main factors like a classroom, nature of task, goals and
reward. These are also known as contextual factors.
b. The behaviour of the student is also encouraged
c. Level of involvement also impacts on student’s behaviour
Questioning is one of the traditional methods which is still effective and help in
improving learning ability through activating the mind and brain of an individual. A
detailed evaluation on the teaching plan has been discussed for better understanding.
Different types of questions are forms to help the mind in staying activated and perform
in a variety of way. Evaluation questions, multiple choice questions and divergent
questions jointly improve the overall evaluation process and accelerate the mind of the
student in a proper way which helps in learning, memorising and reproducing in a
proper manner (Lugg, 2007).
Thus it is evident from the empirical study conducted here that society maintains a
proper education system through the process of teaching and learning. The process,
however, is activated in schools, colleges and other institutions. While in the western
society education primarily includes content oriented to development of moral standard
and beliefs of an individual. It is here a process that enlightens human body, mind and
soul. It is sometimes identified as the main nature of human personality and with the
help of learning process, the student understands the society’s way of life and how he
should adjust to this process (Miller, 2005).
Learning and teaching could be arranged within a classroom or in an open area or even
by organising practical sessions. The teacher is identified as the communicator and
controller. Thus it’s his responsibility to ensure that the student learns properly.

Teaching and learning environment for the students is highly important as it helps the
teacher in controlling the entire work environment in a defined manner (Wartenberg,
2003).

The activities that have been strategically developed for the class was planned by keeping
in mind that the students already have knowledge of the basic tenses and sentence
construction, however, there is a need to focus on developing the verbal and non-verbal
form of communication so as to help the students boost the confidence level and improve
English speaking.
At the lower intermediate level, the adults already have the knowledge of basic tense and
phrases, the session will focus on developing the listening as well as improve fluency in
both verbal and non-verbal mode of communication.
Materials and equipment required:
Books, notes, questions and practice tests will be conducted to help the students in
learning the language in a proper way. Such regular practice sessions especially the
presentation session, interactive, group activities and debate classes will not only improve
the language speaking ability but will also help in boosting the level of confidence by
improving the public speaking skill.

Hence, it can be safely concluded that the session has been designed keeping in mind

narrating, oratory and group working skills.
CONCLUSION
Effective in teaching is therefore explained in a proper manner and its characteristics
discussed in a defined way. Effective and ineffective teachers are present in the system
and they are respected based on their knowledge base, selection of teaching process
and skill set. Thus, it is evident from the study that teaching methodology includes
certain predetermined qualities, teaching processes and norms implemented or
possessed by the teacher to offer effective knowledge. Teaching qualities like

interaction assist in offering desired services. These qualities are important in the
