1MANAGEMENT THEORY AND PRACTICE
When we generally use the term effectiveness, we generally use it to mean the degree
to which an organization functions every day. The effectiveness of the organization is what
helps to make it successful in their day to day operations. I have been associated with a
number of organizations and institutions throughout my working career, however the
organization which I consider to be most effective is Tata Consultancy Services. I would
reflect why I would consider this organization to be most successful and effective in its
service.
We all know the purpose of Tata Consultancy Services. Tata Consultancy Services is
a well-known Indian multinational information company with its branches all over the world.
The main service performed by the company is providing services to various clients with
their information needs. In addition to this, the company also offers consultancy services to
the clients and offers expert business services to the clients. The company also provides
business solutions to the companies so that they can achieve success in the market against
their rivals.
I feel that the scope of the operations of the company is to make sure that the clients
of the company achieves the success in the marketplace. It is the aim of the company to make
sure that they are able to provide the best possible solutions to the clients so that the clients
can achieve their objectives in the marketplace. I feel that this purpose of the company is
what makes the company so successful in the marketplace.
While evaluating the performance of Tata Consultancy Services, I feel that it is
important to analyse a company on the basis of various grounds in order to determine the
effectiveness of the organization. Some of the criteria which can be used to judge the
effectiveness of the organization would include the factors like that of the financial
performance. Long term planning, internal structure of the organization etc. Out of all these

criterions, I feel that I would evaluate the company on the basis of the financial performance
of the organization. I would evaluate the organization on the basis of the financial
performance, because it is a commonly known fact that TCS is the world’s largest IT service
provider company in the world. In addition to this, the company was the first to breach the
$100 market specialization. In addition to this, it is also the second largest company in the
world, with a market capitalization of $ 6,79,332.8. From this fact itself, I concluded that the
organization had been able to draw a lot of capital in the market by the services which they
provide to their clients. This has led to the company being known as one of the most popular
companies in the world, which forms the reason for me choosing the concept of the financial
performance of the company. The financial performance of the company is what keeps the
company stay ahead of its competitors in the marketplace. Hence, I use this criteria to
evaluate the company.
Just like me, the owners and the customers can also evaluate the effectiveness of the
company on a number of criteria to evaluate the effectiveness of the company. These criteria
might be on the ground of long term planning of the company as well as the internal structure
of the company itself. There are several reasons why these people would evaluate the
company on these two grounds. The first is the long-term planning of the organization. The
customers would like to evaluate the company on these factors because they would be
interested in knowing about the product and the services and the products which the company
aims to bring into the market. The customers would find this interesting as they would be
able to choose the products and the services that they demand. Hence, I feel that the
customers would evaluate the effectiveness of the organization of the company on the basis
of the long-term plans of the company.

workplace. Another important factor which the owners need to ensure is that there is
employee satisfaction and motivation in the workplace. These are the various criteria which I
think the customers and the owners would use for the evaluation of the company. Evaluating
the organization on the basis of these two grounds would help the customers and the owners
of the company to make sure that the company earns the maximum profit in the marketplace.
The customers and the owners of the company would be able to understand the various areas
in which the improvements need to be made in the company.
It is from these discussions that I conclude that the Tata Consultancy Services is
indeed performing effectively in the marketplace. However, the criteria of long term planning
and the internal structure of the company can be used to make the improvements to the
company itself. All these improvements can be done to make sure that the company continues
to function effectively in the marketplace. Thus, it can be said in this case that Tata
Consultancy Services is indeed one of the well-known companies in the world and it
