ASSIGNMENT

Task 1
i. Risk Assessment is one of the vital actions and considerations to be made in the
House Refurbishment as this helps in avoiding any accidents or injury that might
take place in its execution. The purpose of risk assessment is to reduce the
probability of accident and injury in the refurbishment.
ii. The Risk Assessment could be carried out through the following steps,
a. Identify the Hazards which reflects those things which may cause any harm
b. Identifying the victims of the hazardous or in other words, who would be
harmed and how they would be harmed.
c. Assessing the risks and take required actions, this would be the third step.
d. The findings through the assessment should be recorded.
e. Finally the review of the risk assessment should be made.
iii. Hazard could be defined as the any agent which may cause harm or damage to the
humans, environment or property. The harm that might take place during
execution of any work (Hse.gov.uk, 2019).
iv. Risk could be defined as the situation which involves exposure to danger. It can
also be stated as the intentional interaction with uncertainty.
v. The steps that would be followed in the House Refurbishment risk assessment,
would be as done as follows:
a. The identification of the hazards would be done through acknowledging the
areas which are in disaster state and the collapse of those areas could injure the
people at large.
b. The victims or the people who would be injured through hazards would
include the ones who would work for enhancing the areas of refurbishment
and thus, they need to be protected.
c. The risks that may be part of the refurbishment includes the injury of the
workers, damage of other parts of the house, etc.
d. The risks observed or predicted would be recorded systematically for further
enquiry (Hse.gov.uk, 2019).
e. The risk assessment plan would be considered for taking on the best solution.
