Focus Area 4.1: Support Students Participation:
The Australian Professional Standards for Teachers (2018) posits that “we need to
support inclusive students’ participation alongside engagement in classroom
activities (Department of Education 2018, p. 16).
The Department of Education defines the inclusive education as the means which
each school community is valued as well as supported to completely participate,
learn, develop as well as succeed within the inclusive school culture.
Early Childhood Education:
The Early Years Learning Framework (2016) posits that inclusion is an active
reaction by early childhood educators to comprehend every child’s family’s
experiences as well as children individual capability (Department of Education
2016, p. 12).

Inclusion supports child’s rights as well as makes sure
that:
Each child has equitable access to full array of early
childhood and community settings
Provide environments which support meaningful, positive
relationships as well as friendships with adults and peers
Every child participate meaningfully while learning,
playing as well as interacting together
Every child is supported to remain active community
members
