INTRODUCTION Aviation is not only limited to pilots and attendants of the flight. Aviation industry has a lot of people working in it behind the scenes. They have a teams under various departments which ensure the proper functioning and management of all the activities at the airport(Borghini and et. Al, 2017)There are managers in each team which are responsible for the management of the working of various departments. The management in the aviation is responsible for the aircraft planning, management of revenue, hiring of employees, marketing of products and services, enforcement of all the safety measures, etc. they make sure that all the operations were managed smoothly. TASK How to conduct the Safe Operation of flights? The operations are the vital process of an aviation industry. The safety and security of the operation have to be in accordance with the quality standards. The various analytical tools help in the conduct of success of the operations. The airlines have to be sure of the fact that they maintain the confidentiality of information related to the passengers. The digital flight data should be available online and on specified time. Whenever there is any update in any information that needs to be displayed digitally also. During the emergency times, the landing of flight should be done successfully by informing to the concerned authorities. The safety equipmentsshouldbecarriedatetimeofeverytravel(Breidenthal,2018).Thesafety equipments include all the necessary instruments such as oxygen mask, life jacket, medical equipments etc. The staff should be fully trained for the occurrence of any emergency situation. The safety audits and assessment should be done within the airlines. Each department unit should be purview under the safety assessment. The auditor should be maintained internally also to check the compliance of operations and workings of the airlines. By appointing internal auditor helps in effective external audit and compliance of safety and quality in all operations. The cabin report should be prepared and submitted every time before taking any flights. The health status should be checked of every staff before boarding. The airlines should always send the extra staff for any emergency cases. Before taking any flight the weather and economic conditions should be scrutinised for successful flight. The staff should always educate briefly to all passengers about all the health hazards situation and suggest the measures to overcome it. The passengers
should also be asked to share any health issue with the company, so that they can prepare for the necessary instruments if needed in prior for conduction of safe travel. This all the steps will help in conduction of safe flights(Janakiraman and Nielsen, 2016). What is Air Traffic Control? Air traffic control is a unit whose main aim is to safely move the aircraft through the airspace system. They have key responsibility to keep the aircraft safe and ensure the safety of aircraft at the time of take-off and landing. The unit have several equipments which help to make communication with the pilots while instructing, informing or advising them. It navigates the traffic and control the air traffic at various airports in UK. Safety of aircraft and passengers are paramount. The controller of the units shall follow all the guidelines and handle the aircraft safety. The person who controls the air traffic is termed as 'Air Traffic Controller'. The unit at the airport generally is combination of different companies. In UK air traffic control services are provided by NAT. Before the take-off, airline sends the detailed plan of the route and timings of an aircraft to the controller who is in charge of that particular flight. While taking off, the pilot will be in continuous contact with the controller. When the controller is satisfied after navigating the traffic that the flight is ready to take off, he gives permission for the same(Moolchandani and et. al., 2017). When aircraft is in the air, the controller keeps check on it and direct the movement of it to the pilot. They also provide the pilot information relating to the weather conditions outside. The controller keeps check of the minimum distance to be made with other planes at the time when flight is in the air. The control unit is also responsible for handling of the unscheduled traffic and emergencies which may also lead to any unexpected events. At the time of landing the control unit is also responsible for handling ground movement of planes and vehicles at the airport(Prevot and et. al., 2016). What is an airline operations team? For an airline it is not possible for one single unit at the airport to manage the functioning and operations of the airlines. For the work to be managed with respect to the operations of airlines there are 3 categories under which the work is categorised. They are: ï‚·Commercial:This team is responsible for the planning of the flights and its network. They manage the prices, sales, revenues, etc. It deals with the allotment of seats to the

passenger and sets the structure of the price per seat. This team also makes marketing strategies to promote products and services of the airline as they have huge range of products. ï‚·Engineering:This teams deals with the management and maintenance of the aircraft. They are the in-house engineers whose sole aim is to provide the services in case there is any problem in the aircraft. They also repair the aircraft in case of emergency. There are various service enters at different location in UK to help the airlines with the services like at Heathrow, Gatwick, etc. ï‚·Flight operations:This team is solely responsible for the operations related to the safety of flights. The team is also responsible to the pilot community with the recruitment and training. The team also gives support to the pilot community. They also make policies on operating aircraft(Ryffe and et. al., 2019). ï‚·Operations:This team deals with the management of the operations worldwide related to baggage and network punctuality. This team is also responsible for scheduling the time of an aircraft for take-off and landing and ensures that the aircraft is not disrupted because of any interruption or weather change. At times of disruption, it is the duty of operations team to reschedule the time of the flight and inform the management about the same. How do they work together? The air traffic control works to ensure that the aircraft is safe while taking off and landing. It works closely to deliver the services of the safely directing aircraft. It works either solely or in the group with a responsibility of the specific part of the airspace which is control zone or sector. It also controls traffic between the sectors to make the optimal and smooth route for each of the aircraft. On the other hand, the airline operations team is entrusted with the role like flight planning, weather data provision, flight watch, integration with the crew, maintenance planning, operations control and many other(Schmid, Vollrath and Stanton, 2018).It works to reduce the cost and increase the effectiveness of the employees so that smooth operations are carried out. The air traffic control and airline operations team work together to ensure that the aircraft journey is ensured safe and secure and all the internal operations are carried out smoothly. Moreover, they both work while coordinating with each other so that there is no compromise for the safety of the aircraft. For the smooth running of this airline industry, it is
important to have team work. They both work together while using the current technologies advancement like digital communication or decision support so that better support is provided to its activities. On one hand, the airline operations team manage the flight operations, ground resources and maintenance while the air traffic control works to ensure the safety of the aircraft. Without the support and coordination of each other they cannot work effectively(Thota, Bawa and Stansbury, 2020). What would the changes be if one of these teams did not exist? If the air traffic control and airline operations does not work together, the safety of the aircraft cannot be ensured. As air traffic control communicate with the pilots through their communication medium, it works to prevent the collisions. It has enforced many traffic separation rules so that minimum amount of empty space is maintained. If this team does not work with airline operations, the pilots and administration shall not get the information regarding the empty space or the right time to land and take off the airline. This will bring confusion and doubts and may lead to accidents(Wakeman and Langham, 2018).As airline operations manages resources and flight operation, without the support and teamwork of air traffic control, the airline operations team cannot function properly as they work as guideline tool for them. Without coordination between the two, there cannot be safe environment for the workforce and passenger who are eager to avail the service of the airline. If the airline operations team does not plan the efficient manpower, there cannot be effective functioning of air traffic control as it also needs productive manpower for their operations. The airline industry involves technical work which can be done by the skilled and trained employees, so if airline operations team does not work with air traffic control, it will bring inefficient working and unsafe environment(Wang, 2016). CONCLUSION It has been concluded from the above report thatthe safe operations are considered as vital process of an aviation industry. The safety and security of the operation have to be in accordance with the quality standards. The various analytical tools help in the conduct of success of the operations.Along with this,Air traffic control also considered as an important concept whose main aim is to safely move the aircraft through the airspace system. They have key responsibility to keep the aircraft safe and ensure the safety of aircraft at the time of take-off and landing. For
an airline it is difficult for one single unit at the airport to monitor the functioning and operations of the airlines. For the work to be managed with respect to the operations of airlines there are 3 categorieswhich includesCommercial, Engineering, Flight operations and Operations.
